Recommended only if Pump It Up is a big part of your life, and you don't mind the "online only" part this game currently has active. There are also some changes with hold notes and how charts are structured to account for hand play. There are some parallels being drawn to Pump It Up M (mobile edition) that was later discontinued and shut down -- but then again, practically every mobile game did this. Pinball Arcade was delisted from mobile at one point, rendering table purchases useless until its return. The warning is justified, though. Personally, I grew up playing a few games in the series, and some of the songs were great to listen to. Yes, Beethoven Virus is there, and that (and a few others) won my favor over DDR. It wasn't until Phoenix where I branched out more, and this game partly helped with my singles/doubles climb in the arcade. Phoenix 2 was just revealed, and you'll receive greater value from this purchase and R!SE Volume 2 if there is a relevant cabinet nearby. I'm new to these types of games, it is incredibly fun with a dance mat, highly recommend for people looking for a fun way to improve their fitness :)

Fun game, though the price tag is pretty high compared to other high quality rhythm games on steam. There's no doubles, but you can play 5-6 key in many difficulties. The free song list is pretty huge, though bloated by bad classical music remixes (the PIU special) which I don't really like. The later arcade songs and the variety songs are quite good though, and several have nice BGAs as well. Overall it's a nice vsrg and feels a little different from some of its competitors, so I would recommend it if you like PIU arcade or just want something new to play. If the game continues to get high quality updates through the end and after early access, it will definitely be a great game.

『 INTRO 』 As a fan of PIU since 2012 waiting for an official game for desktop I'm really happy and insta bought on release. If you are new to the place, check youtube for videos of the arcade know what this game is about and came from. Some places have custom dance pads to buy an then you can play this equal as in the arcade and do some workouts haha. 『 DIRECT THINGS ABOUT THIS GAME 』 + Easy configuration and learning step to play; + Good to have without having appeal to mods/custom games tha simulate PIU; + Cool leveling system, but not to good to have to level up to unlock and play your favorite song; + Cool chalange, season shop and badges/trophy, but you need to do it to play the desired level on division (still can play it in any level on warm up section); - The hold note only work when you step on the start of it and do not work when you are already on that step waiting for it (on arcade you can step before and work with the hold note); - Was hopping for the same UI of arcade, but its completely different, would like to have the option in some future update to change between new UI and arcade UI; - Missing too many mods from arcade. 『 VERDICT 』 Very good game, but if you gonna compare to the arcade version maybe you gonna be frustrated. Beside that, it is a good game with a good experience. Have to remember that its not even on version 1 yet and the roadmap for 2026 sounds promising. I recommend it <3
