There was a game called "Radio commander" which made the idea of the radio and map. However it was severely lacking in terms of game play since a lot of missions you could only lead two platoons and there were no voice commands. However with Radio general you not only get way better game play that is unique, but you also get to play as the Canadians in the second world war which is not very common. Just to make the game better the developers decided to add in real footage of Canadian war news reels which really makes the game feel special. You can decide which units you want to deploy to the field alongside giving them specialisations if they are veteran units. There is a great variety of missions and things on the side that make this the best strategy game I've played by far!

To anyone interested in buying this game, It's fun and great so long as the voice recognition understands what you are saying, even for me, a fluent english speaker, the game doesn't seem to understand certain commands.

I've played a similar game with the game same game mechanics, and I think this game is better because it has faster voice recognition than the other game, has special effects for units engaged in battle, and toy figurines to represent each unit for immersive tabletop commandeering. I think voice recognition still needs more work. It has trouble recognizing commands for deploying reserved units, other than infantry.

actually felt terrible when i killed the first two units you get on the first mission still typed "they would still be alive if they aimed" still felt the realness in the message crazy
