FYI: I hate the OZZY II video titled "Raging Loop is a Huge Mess". It destroys any appeal to potential readers and its on the top of the youtube algorithm when you look up raging loop. ok i went into it unaware of the full cast and also finally after 110 hours i was unaware of revelation mode (added spoilery character diaglogue/interaction in each scene) but im kinda burnt out so i wont be looking into it atm. knowing id need a reread in a few years with revelation mode on could be nice because reading some of these negative reviews with less playtime than me i know im easygoing but it had some peak moments and the lows werent as bad as other vns ive read, i went into this with the pull advertised and left thinking about something that may have seemed boring but i found excitement from even if the vn takes the route of not outright saying some concepts i think 50-60% off is a great deal/pricepoint here and i felt some of inspirations from higurashi in a good way (eyes on journalists) EDIT: ive added an FYI and ive seen it as low as 8$ on switch which is a solid place to get it since no achievements on steam...

After seeing a lot of people talking about how bad the ending is, I thought they are probably exaggerating and apparently a lot of people also liked the ending. Sadly I have to say that the ending definitely left a bad aftertaste for me. It's by no means a complete nose dive in terms of quality, but it definitely did not stick the landing. I would say the first 50% (or first two acts / routes) are pretty good, but starting with the third route, the quality definitely starts declining. There is just a little too much deus ex machina and plot convenience going on. A unreliable narrator is something that needs to be really well executed in order to function and it's even harder to pull off in a mystery novel where the reader usually trying to figure things out themselves. Also, don't be deceived by the initial looks of the game. There is very little freedom in terms of decisions. The game does NOT have separate branches and is played out extremely linear. You'll be going through route one then two, followed by three and then finishing it with the "true" ending route. There is no way to play these routes in a different order, so your path is completely fixed. There are some decisions, but most of them are the big ones that end up branching the routes and require "keys" obtained from another route's ending (or sometimes dead ends). The smaller decisions always end in dead ends and usually finished within 1-2min of reading. Don't expect something like Zero Escape when reading this game. However, the game does build up the mystery quite well and is really enjoyable to read for the majority of its runtime. Characters are kinda hit or miss in my opinion, tho. Some are very fleshed out, while others are just there for apparently no reason. This also makes it fairly predictable who's the "bad" guy. Since the game builds upon the werewolf / mafia game, figuring out who the wolfs are is part of the main plot. But since it's so easy to tell who the game focuses, it's quite clear who they are by the halfway point of each route. Overall I'd say if you enjoyed previous visual novels, give it a go, even if it's just for the first two routes (which are already 20-ish hours).

This game rocks, the ending does feel lame and the exposition dumps near the end are crazy. Still worth it for the first 15 hours being awesome

This is a good visual novel. It's a pretty wild ride, the mystery is fascinating, and the characters you meet along the way are pretty awesome. But...the problem is that the destination isn't nearly as good as the ride. The ending really detracts from the overall work. I hate to compare it to something like Game of Thrones, but that's kind of how I feel about this. I'd read it again and recommend reading it because the journey was so fun, but the ending definitely takes the wind out of its sales.
