Reka is definitely one of the games with the most potential out there. The ambience and theming is great for a witchy type game. I love that I you can build your own baba yaga style home, love the crafting and lore that unravels as you progress through the game. The music and sound design is, so far, an absolute *chefs kiss*! I am definitely captivated and want to play more and more! With that being said, it is a VERY EARLY access game. The graphics are not the best (biggest concern to me are the many clipping issues), and there are numerous bugs that can be spotted even to the untrained eye (Saying this as I am a professional Dev QA). Game is also not super well optimized for steam deck, it is definitely more enjoyable on PC and has much better performance. I am excited about the future of this game and cannot wait to play it more!

I do not make game reviews. I do not play this style of game. I am not the target audience. I bought this game for an ex-girlfriend who I thought would enjoy it, and never played it. I love this game. It is beautiful, whimsical, and a legitimate relaxing joy to play. Please, PLEASE keep working on this project. I cannot express how excited I am to play through the finished version and recommend it to everyone I know.

Good concept, but way too early access. Still needs some updates and content released but still a good game. Not much to the game in its current state. you move from map to map, collecting materials, looting chests and completing quests, but it still feels a little.. lacking. The base building is definitely fun. If you're looking for a nice long game, maybe wait for a few updates, otherwise if you've been eager for this games release, its definitely worth a go, but also definitely worth a little wait for more content.

--EARLY ACCESS THOUGHTS-- Worth it?: Yes. How many hours?: 8hrs Hours customizing home: Endless How much content?: About two story chapter areas and then you enter sandbox mode to go ham making the cozy witch chicken hut of your dreams. PROS: The artstyle is charming and has a storybook feeling. Music had me in an absolute trance. Doesn't mess around getting you right into what you want out of this game. The folklore is so respectful and true to it's source material. The CUSTOMIZATION. Is amazing! I spent 30 minutes making a little altar without even wanting to I just got swept up in the detail potential you can add to every nook and cranny. I sat down for a quick play and didn't realize six hours had passed just doing cute little quests. The dialogue is actually lovely and made me enjoy the aspect of learning about an area from the locals. I was eager to hunt down everyone to see what they had to say, which is rare for me. It scratched that BOTW itch you get of "maybe that nook has a hidden chest!" feeling. I actually liked how vague the quests felt added to the mystery of getting information and using the puzzle side of my brain. (ooo spooky folklore) If you like witchy vibes, being cozy, decorating or exploring this is the game for you. CONS: This feels more like pre-early access. I was farting around being slow taking my time on the content/story/quests and got through it in barely pushing four hours. Then it's only sandbox decorating...which might not be a con for the target audience (me). The UI is clunky, map markers don't work often, the in-game models and icons need work, targeting is odd, npc pathfinding is silly, moving feels a little slow after I input commands, plenty of bugs but nothing immersive or game-breaking. EA stuff barely a con. You also are forced to slow into a walk near any building even if its a ruin which is frustrating, even in my home I wish that was an optional feature to toggle off. Should you get it?: With whats here it's still worth the money and I would be happy to pay for more to support the devs. But, I don't think you'd be missing out by waiting a year or more for it get more content. FOMO won't be an issue here. It's VERY MUCH pre-early access feeling to me and you should keep that in mind, but I loved it! But, this is a gem and an absolute standout in the "cozy" game genre. LOVE YOU DEVS
