RE5 is a good game, corny, interesting, and specially fun if you play it in co-op, because honestly that's the big selling point. I respect Capcom for being risky with this game. However, once you moved from the first chapter (which in my opinion is the best because it actually sets a tone that feels unique to the game), you'll notice how the game is more an action oriented game, which is not a bad thing, but a bad thing if you are thinking RE style solely. I've already played this game multiple times on PS3, now with a friend on PC. Got the plat on the OG game and it was very fun, now getting it on PC was fun as well. If you have a partner, you'll have a blast, because the game is actually very fun on co-op, and while the newer RE games have a much better gameplay, this one hasn't aged that bad, but you gotta get used to the older type of gameplay, similar to RE4, it bring a lot from it from a gameplay perspective. Once you get used to it, it's not bad but I appreciate the changes on the newer games. The Gold Edition comes with 2 DLCs, which are Desperate Escapes and Lost in Nightmares. These are two tie-in episodes that tell the story of familiar characters. The first one is just more RE5 style, action oriented, but the Lost in Nightmares one is actually more in line with the classic RE style. It's a little bit uncomfortable, it's not action oriented, and more puzzle based. They're fun on their own. Multiplayer modes are dead, and not the point of this game. This was back in the day when every game needed an online MP mode to keep it afloat, because trends. Don't think about them. Buy it for co-op, is super fun. I recommend this game if you plan to play on co-op, otherwise might not be as interesting to you, but who knows. I still enjoyed it either way.

I’ve played this game 5 times now, that’s as many evil residents are in this, and I’d do it again without hesitation. This entire game is beyond stupid, and is some of the most entertaining coop you will ever play. Resi 4 combat with an arcadey mission structure and persistent inventory. Resident Evil cheese is at its absolute highest. Anyone who says this game is bad is probably right, anyone who says you shouldn’t play it is unbelievably wrong.

while it's very different (for better or worse) to prior re games, this game's actually quite fun when played as co-op. finished it with bf and we both had quite good time with it. it's more focused on the action side of things rather than exploration/puzzle-solving; layouts are quite linear and most of the time you clear out waves of mobs in different set-ups and settings + do hefty amount of inventory/loot management. it's different but not bad, kudos to capcom for trying out new things at the time. i think they found the sweet spot for the balance between action and exploration in the revelations series, especially in revelations 2. sadly those games are kind of underrated. overall, definitely recommend re 5 as a co-op (playing alone would definitely be not as fun, game's obv intended for two players) action shooter. also cutscenes are pure gold as always, wesker was so dramatic :D

This game opens with a close-up of Sheva's ass. Mid way through, Jill rips her top open to let her girls breathe. It all ends with a shirtless Wesker in a volcano telling Chris how he really feels. It's bizarre. Great game.
