Overall: 9/10 Reventure is a quirky, silly platformer that leans into the ridiculous and illogical. And man, what an awesome game this is! Reventure is easily worth $10 and they sell it for less than $2 Canadian, the value here is absolutely insane. This is one of those games where if you haven't already bought it yet... what on earth are you waiting for? Just buy it. Then play it. Get as far as you can without guides. Then, when you've used all that brain juice of yours, look things up and finish it. Its 100% worth it. Just do it. Seriously. If you're considering buying the game but still aren't sure, see below for a more comprehensive breakdown! ---Breakdown--- Worth the Money? [X] 100% worth full price - This has never been more true than in the case of Reventure! [-] Buy it on sale [-] Buy it exclusively on a deep sale [-] Not worth even if it was free Personal Enjoyment [X] So good I completed the achievements [-] A great experience [-] It has its moments [-] Not for me Achievement Completion [X] A satisfying and achievable 100% [-] A tad long but still a fun 100% [-] Starts fun but gets very grindy [-] Don't bother Do you need DLC to 100% Achievements? [-] Yes [X] No Starting Experience [-] Grabs you by the balls [X] Starts strong [-] Needs some time to cook [-] Never quite got there Learning Curve [X] Easy to pick up [-] Challenging but rewarding [-] Very complicated [-] Entirely overwhelming Gameplay Loop [X] Incredibly satisfying [-] Smooth and polished [-] Feels like its missing something [-] Boring Controls [X] Buttery smooth [-] Intuitive and responsive [-] Clunky and confusing [-] Feels like you are fighting the game Narrative/Character Writing [-] An absolute masterpiece [X] Well written and engaging [-] Has its problems but is enjoyable [-] Mediocre at best Art Direction/Thematic [-] WOW! [X] Stylized and unique [-] Gets the job done [-] Not my cup of tea Sound Design [X] A complete banger [-] Good sounds/music [-] Has a unique sound [-] Didn't do it for me Time Commitment [X] Can stop and go as you please [-] Great for short sessions (<30 mins) [-] You'll need dedicated play sessions (>30 mins) [-] Long but with solid stopping points [-] You cannot be employed Attention Required [-] Prime second monitor content [X] May require full attention for brief periods [-] You need to actively focus on the game [-] Requires your full undivided attention ---End of Breakdown--- About My Reviews: I'm a dork with two decades of gaming experience under my belt. I almost exclusively play games on controller (when applicable) which gives me a unique perspective from that of somebody gaming exclusively via mouse and keyboard. The overall score above is entirely just for fun, it really doesn't mean anything! A numeric score will always only be subjective, you are I aren't likely to agree! The breakdown is meant to give you more useful information about various aspects of the game in a relatively unbiased way. The goal is to give you a more complete picture of what the game has to offer so you can make an informed decision with your money. This review system is an active work in progress so if you have any feedback at all, I am absolutely open to suggestions!

Easily the most stressful and boring game I've played. Going for 100% is pure pain especially after the first 30 endings, which are easy and funny, the rest is just lame. But the art style and creativity of the devs save this game badly. Would recomend if you like suffering or just want to see some endings, especially since it's really cheap for the playtime it offerts(10h+ of pure suffering). 7/10

Honestly, a pretty fun game for a 1$. The gameplay is simple and there's nothing crazy (although I do like the mechanic of weight affecting jump height and overall mobility, not many games do that these days). There's a plethora of funny and witty endings as well as neat general discoveries to explore, its easy to tell that the devs had a fun time making this. That's further supported by seeing the world and dialogues change as you unlock more endings and get further and further along. This is not a detail that should be core to any game aside from building games, but the inclusion gives a fun sense of achievement. So long as you aren't taking this game seriously and you enjoy exploring when you play games, you'll probably like it. The only potential downside I would give is that even with the hints they provide, it's pretty difficult to unlock all the endings and bonus content without looking up a guide. I would recommend exploring as much as you want until it feels monotonous and then pulling up a guide for the rest of the game (again, not a game to take seriously). Overall, great game and definitely worth it for the dollar. It's great to finally play the game that inspired the Legend of Zelda franchise.

Absolutely hilarious and very well crafted retro look and feel. Reventure is worth what they are charging and more.

interesting adventure game where your goal is to die and find new paths and different endings. i was impatient so i used a video walkthrough guide, but if you plan on exploring everything yourself you can easily get double my amount of playtime (if not more) out of it.
