The devs did an insanely good job bringing the game into VR, nothing feels half-ported or compromised. The guns feel fantastic to shoot, super punchy and satisfying in the hands, and the soundtrack, noisecream absolutely melts your brain in the best way possible. The whole thing just vibes perfectly in VR. All the core mechanics are here and they’re implemented really well. Movement feels smooth, gunplay is tight, and the overall flow is just pure adrenaline. A few downsides, though: Optimization isn’t perfect yet. I’m on a 3080 Ti + 9700K @ 4.9GHz + 32GB RAM, and fps drops after 3rd or 4th biome. Running on low settings for stable performance, which isn’t ideal. Only one default control layout. I’m sure you can tweak things through Steam, but I’d love a couple of official alternatives out of the box. Spears still feel weird to throw — probably something you get used to, but still a bit clunky. No multiplayer yet (can’t wait to play co-op). Honestly, even with these issues, the game is an absolute blast. Super promising, super fun, and already worth every minute. If you love fast-paced VR shooters, this one is a must-try.

It's always impressive when you pay full price for a game and still feel like you got a good deal. RoboQuest was already one of my all time favorite roguelites but the expert handling of the flat game to VR is nothing short of magical. Yeah I know that is a hyperbolic descriptor but when you're in the thick of this game and jumping around like a maniac while the kickass music blasts and robots explode into a million smoking pieces, it's absolute heaven. The game is properly hard as well, which balances well with the absolute avoidance of cheap deaths. If you die in this game, it's because you put on clown makeup and danced around like a clown and got your ass blasted. That's it. Controls are supremely tight and managing havoc in VR is not an easy task but the way it works here is smooth and never overwhelming to the point of being unenjoyable. I can't gush about this game enough and it sets an incredibly high bar for subsequent hi-octane VR shooters. I will put 4x the time into the VR version than I did the 2D because my god does this game slap so hard.

Undeniably really dang hard while in VR as you need to always be on the move as well as aiming with your dominant hand. So these two factors definitely make it really hard to play at standard difficulty, but if you're looking for a VR game that's challenging, I'd recommend this one. This'll give you the rush you need if you need to train your aim while jumping/double jumping in the air to avoid getting hit. Only played for a few rounds before writing this review, but I have a long way to go to if I want to reach the same level of play I had achieved on the flatscreen version of the game

Played the original. This is a good adaptation. Only thing I would like to add is shotguns being manually pumped. Other than that very awesome.
