I quite enjoyed playing Root Letter! It's a mystery VN combined with some point&click/investigation gameplay. The story is fun and meanwhile some stuff was pretty predictable, I was still interested since the writing is overall entertaining and I was eager to find out the whole truth. I especially liked how unreliable the characters are, as well as how weird some routes were (tbh I preferred the obscure endings over the realistic ones lol, I'd love the alien and curse endings to be longer). My probably only complaint is that the constantly relaxing atmosphere feels a bit too peaceful for the genre, even many of the parts that were supposed to be suspenseful/creepy didn't really manage to feel intense (though I guess the game just purposely keeps it's calm vibe at all times which is also kinda nice). Despite finding that disappointing, I'd say it's a decent balance between dark topics/mystery and something relaxing/casual. Otherwise there are great visuals and the voice actors really did their best lol.
