I want to preface this by saying this game is 5 dollars, you get what you pay for etc etc etc. I think conceptually the game is fun, but in execution it's very boring and uninteresting. The steam page specifies "crazy synergies" but let's be honest, this is not an actual roguelike it's just RNG-based linear progression. - You can get the ability to jump higher, 28 of those and you "beat" the game - You get the ability to reinforce the rope so it doesn't break on one hit - You get the ability to make the rope faster - You get the ability to add more ropes - You get the ability to increase luck which gives a very low chance to get x10 jumps on a single jump - You get the ability to set the ropes on fire which gives a jump multiplier per on fire rope - You get the ability to put the ropes that are on fire out - You get the ability to reinforce the ropes that are on fire so they don't instantkill you when they touch you - You get the ability to put the ropes that are on fire and reinforced out - You get rocket boots that break the game because you can pause and unpause while using them to get - infinite usage out of them until you get another upgrade, you can exploit this glitch to "beat" the game with only 3 jump upgrades because you need 3 jump upgrades to access the rocket boots Now idk about you but the list of upgrades don't really sound particularly interesting and that's because they aren't. There's no real synergy between upgrades, it's all a sham. There are game breaking bugs as well as just general lack of polish. The rope goes underneath the ground until you get around 3 jump upgrades then by the time you jump the rope will not be on the ground to go underneath it. When obtaining an upgrade sometimes your character will not respond to a jump input when landing, and this frustratingly ends your run without any real agency from you as a player The game has some bizarre built in mash protection so you can't just spam jump but this too will sometimes result in your character not responding to a jump when landing, etc And then of course the Rocket Boot glitch I mention when describing the upgrades The thing that disappoints me the most is this game exists solely so the developer can sell merch for upwards to 10x the price of the game So updates and fixes are very unlikely I don't advise against buying the game, it's just 5 dollars, if that's too much of an investment for you then obviously don't buy it but I figure if you get 5 hours of "entertainment" out of it then it's a net positive even if I don't believe in the 1 dollar per hour philosophy of game quality. I feel like I'd be less critical of it if it was just a porn game because those come with the assumption that you will experience jank. The dev has overhyped this project on twitter for quite some time and it failed to deliver on that hype, but again, 5 dollars.
Feels like a mobile game from the late 2000s/early 2010s, for better or worse. Overall, I like it, however there's a few things I'd like to see added in the future: Windowed mode(I'm a single monitor plebian, I hope you understand) Rear-view toggle so I can watch her massive double-decker dumptruck wobble wagon jiggle like gelatin as she jumps(If people are gonna call your game goonerslop, might as well embrace it. Maybe even an expansion upgrade? lol) Additional game mode(s) of sorts that still involves jumping or jump rope(Maybe something like Flappy Bird?)
Idk why some negative reviews were expecting you to be moving like a darksouls character while jump roping but this game is pretty addictive for how simple it is. you jump rope with a funny lil character I like to play this while im in that mood where i want to play something but i end up staring at my desktop or just to kill some time looking forward to some unlockable skins/outfits or more of the Devs OCs or maybe different locations with different events that can happen!
