My first three runs were not that remarkable (Except the time I blasted myself with laser by accident) and I wanted to refund the game thinking it was just VotV in space... until one specific run that I can only explain like this: Mid run got an item (I wont tell you what was it) Guessing time! Item injected ship with alien trojan that physically and mentally violated me for straight five minutes by? 1. Shat all over my screens 2. Disabled my free medical treatment 3. Blasted bbno$ on full volume 4. Sucked all my oxygen out (including me) by opening airlocks wide open 5. Gave my rover to IRS 6. Pissed on my grave 7. Ate my dog 8. All of the above Answer: 8. All of the above after returning to the space station the Trojan ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ killed everyone which ended up sending my score down to -57.000 as a final ♥♥♥♥ you 10/10, recommend it to all masochists and morphine addicts.
The player begins in orbit around an uncharted planet, deploying a rover from their ship to explore the surface and recover artifacts left behind by an unknown civilization. Along the way, you'll encounter hostile aliens and even turn their own technology against them. The game constantly forces you to balance greed against survival. Do you carry more loot, or bring extra equipment that helps you fight, stay alive, and more effectively discover some sh**? Every run is a struggle between hoarding more loot and a slow death from radiation. The story is told through the protagonist's backstory and the ending you receive after each expedition. Every time, you play someone driven by profit while an invisible threat—radiation—is always closing in. Whether you escape alive with a fortune or spend everything you've earned trying to recover from radiation sickness is entirely up to you. I got several successful runs out of the game, but unfortunately it offers very little in the way of tutorials. Without reading the official manual, you'll probably have a rough time. Thankfully, I took the time to go through it, and most of my expeditions ended successfully. That said, I don't think the game fully realizes its potential. It lacks meta-progression, which makes it hard to stay motivated to keep starting new runs—unless you're the kind of player who enjoys unlocking every ending (most of which are rather bleak). If you play carefully and efficiently, you'll likely miss a lot of the content and situations that seem designed to punish careless or inattentive players. The alien modules are one of the game's strongest features—each one can be installed on your rover and offers interesting possibilities. Unfortunately, the repetitive enemies and largely empty map don't create enough opportunities for truly interesting builds or strategies. Overall, Scavenger SV-4 is definitely worth checking out. It isn't a particularly long game, but it's full of interesting ideas, and I'll be looking forward to whatever this developer makes next.
this game is quite a bit like signal simulator but more hands on as you control your rover on a planet to collect certain objects, and even protect it with a turret, strikes a nice balance of desolation as you search around with with your rover as you balance energy, damage, sight, even hearing, before returning with a full payload to do it again though the game is quite short for how many smaller systems exist within it there doesn't seem to be much to manage on the ship itself other than going into the med bay for radiation damage, which isn't all that interesting instead of a radiation threat, it would have been more interesting to have the rover prioritize between collecting new items or getting something like water or phosphorus for plants (if there was gardening) but i would recommend if you enjoy a bit of solitude while hidden behind your machines
