Don't listen to the negative comments, if you're looking for a true guide to what Starship Evo is as a game, here it is. This game is outstandingly impressive for one that's developed primarily by a single guy. Compared to modern games, it's $32.50 pricetag (In CDN at least) is not at all horrible, and for what it has to offer I think its more than reasonable. Wether you should get this game or not a few years ago for the price was questionable, but it is more than worth it now. Who should get Starship Evo? Starship Evo is primarily a starship design game, however it dabbles in Factories and Survival. Factories and Survival are more recent, however still entirely playable and (definitely) fun. I'ven ever experienced so much freedom in a game before, the lack of "balance" restrictions is amazing. Don't get me wrong though, this game isn't unbalanced, it's just it takes engineering to another level where whatever you can engineer works, it's not limited by mining beam caps, ship size caps, weapon caps, and such, if your power system can handle it, your ship is large enough, and you have the resources, you can make it happen. This level of freedom is something Iv hardly seen in games, and when you mix it with the highly detailed ship designer its amazing. If you can dream it, you can build it. If I had to tell you what the game feels like, I'd say its the child of Space Engineers and Stormworks. Arguably better and worse in some areas. I'd give the ship designer a 9.5/10, Its amazing, however there are a few little things that could be ironed out or added to help it. The bugs experienced in game depend on what area your playing. Generally I find that building the ships and using them is a nearly bug free experience if not fully bug free, which is incredibly impressive for a one man job. Everything space based is also incredibly well developed and relatively bug free, the only problems that exist really is Survival. Survival has quite a few bugs to iron out, however it only JUST released a few weeks ago. There are many people complaining about bugs, and I share their frustration, however all we have to do is give it time. Most of these bugs are so repetive the next bug fix is sure to squash them and we can play this addicting game without encountering such problems soon. I think another really good part about this game is how the progression feels. It's slow, but not in a frustrating way, its perfect for the game. The speed allows you to experience every end of the game (some optionally) at a healthy pace which really adds to the experience. Areas like creating your first starships and mining ships no matter how many worlds you've played are such a proud moment and such a jump in technology (as it should be) that it really does reward playing. Overall, if what I've said interests you, than get this game. I bought this game blindly OVER space engineers (on this account anyways) and I could never be more proud of my financial decisions. I have been slow in my pace, but its still such a fun game, and I owe the developer my most gracious thank you, for creating such a masterpiece.

Overview:Best Spaceship-building game out there with ships you can actually fly around in. The good: -Game is essentially an easier and more creative version of Space Engineers. -Can make far more detailed and intricate ships than SE -Decent graphics -Decent performance -Survival Update is very fun so far. -Has working NPCs you can hire and actually see aboard your ship. -VERY great Developer responsiveness The Bad: -Very buggy, filled to the brim with bugs that are constantly being squashed. -Very limited graphics settings, essentially just a few effects and Vsync and thats it -Keybinds split into two separate menus (Help menu and Options menu), this can be very confusing sometimes -a SINGLE DEVELOPER IS MAKING THIS, which is both absolutely amazing and dissapointing, because your bugs are dependent on his Caffiene tollerance. I hope he can hire some good help The Ugly: -Cannot exit to main menu, only to desktop. -No manual saving, only autosaving (but in slots at least) -Some issues with the saving of entities like ships (causing them to disappear) in survival mode. -Linux support is nonexistant, it runs with the proton layer, but expect many more bugs that the developer cannot prioritize until next year. Conclusion: I find this game to be fun and enjoyable change of pace in this genre.ITS BY A SINGLE DEVELOPER FOR CRYING OUT LOUD (this game is already 80% of space engineers and 50% of star citizen and those games have dozens and thousands of devs respectively). I love crafting ships and staffing them, Its frustrating how many bugs can ruin your day, but thats why this is early access. If you need to express your creative side and build a very detailed spaceship, then this is probably your best game for it. If you dont mind experiencing a few bugs for now, I reccomend. 8/10

Like Space Engineers / No Mans Sky / Stormworks all wrapped into one amazing package! This things you can create in this game is wild! Huge open world with loads of enemy factions to run into, cargo running and full handheld weapon creation tools also. With the latest release of the survival update I can safely say this is an extremely fun game that has a dev that truly cares for their product and listens heavily to community feedback. Get this game if you want to get absolutely lost in a fantastic crafting survival experience. P.S Warning on performance, this game can be very GPU taxing and if you are very close to minimum spec you may have a degraded experience as of now on planets. I feel this will change in the future but i thought this was important to note for people wanting to purchase the game. Also right now multiplayer is only done through port forwarding in your router, I am not allowed to do this at my house so multiplayer is out of the question for me. I really do hope this changes in the future but as of now do not buy this if you are hoping for a online experience.

Wow… this game has literally risen from the dead. After two years of silence, the developer came back with a massive update—so much new content: survival, pirates, AI, and more. It’s honestly overwhelming in the best way. You completely caught me off guard… and yeah, I owe you an apology for doubting you 😄

Ive played many space games like star citizen, empyrion, space bourne 2, no mans sky, Osiris New Dawn, Space Engineers 1 and 2, Qanga. This game has the potential to compete against all of them even star citizen because it SC doesn't have ship building, base building and Offline mode. This one does. Its crazy to think that only one developer is working on this. Good job dude, much respect.
