The physics puzzles are entertaining, challenging, and so satisfying to solve! The protagonist is adorable and furry, and the banter with NPCs is clever and witty. The ending feels complete and gratifying, while leaving an easy plug for a sequel (I WANT ONE PLEASE)! As a completionist, I find the hunt for collectables enjoyable and rewarding. That said, collecting is still a little buggy, but because of how truly wonderful this game is, it's easy to stay dedicated to sticking with it as the devs continue to tie up loose ends.

At long last, we have found where all of the orange cat brain cells went: Mittens has them and is using them to do SCIENCE! Schrödinger's Cat Burglar is fantastic! The store page tagline of "Portal with cats" is pretty accurate - although the premise is different, it uses the same parts of your brain to figure out how to move through each puzzle area with the ability to be in two places at once. Plus, you're a cat! Mittens is very expressive and is animated super well even outside of cutscenes - comparable to Stray , even. The pacing is spot-on, introducing new mechanics and twists at just the right times to keep things from becoming repetitive while also not overwhelming you with too much at once. The difficulty is balanced well too, encouraging clever thinking without being punishing or frustrating, and the sounds and soundtrack are great on top of that! The humor is also on point, witty and snarky but never too forced, and the more "serious" dialogue writing is excellent to top it all off as well. I think Mittens might be my spirit animal(s). Even the pseudo-science explanations are done well, with enough explanation to understand the game mechanics without getting completely lost in the complexities of quantum theory. Does it make sense if you think about it too much? Not quite, but it's enough to be believable, justify the title, and consistently follows its own rules as far as I can tell, so it works! Also worth noting is the fact that it's fully co-op (albeit shared/split screen only), and yet it plays just as well solo. The controls and mechanics are set up in a way that it doesn't feel redundant or overwhelming to control two cats at once, and you have to recombine frequently enough that it still plays as "one cat that can split into two cats" rather than "two cats that can merge into one cat." From a story perspective it definitely makes more sense to play solo though. I'd highly recommend this game if you like Portal, Stray, or puzzle games (and cats) in general. It's great fun and I hope it does well, because the developers have absolutely knocked it out of the park here! UPDATE: The ending. Oh man, the ending. Please buy this game so that the developers can fund a sequel, because the climax made me way more invested in this story than I thought I would be.

This is probably the best 20 dollar game I've played, and I played Silksong. I've been following this project for around 4-ish months and any expectation I had, has been blown out of the water and into space. I expected this to be a rather silly game that could play in my off hours in the probably 6 hours it would last. Little did I know that I would become so enthralled, I didn't want to put it down. The environments have so much storytelling in it and I loved the massive amount of flavor text and lore. You can feel the care, effort and love that went into every second of this game's development. And the music!!! ahh every single song is this game is a banger and does a really good job of setting the mood. Mittens and Susan are so expressive and funny and I love their dynamic so much. 20/10 would recommend.

When I first stumbled upon the demo for this game, I was immediately hooked, the mechanics are unlike anything I've seen in a video game before and it is very addicting. I clocked over 3 hours on the demo because I just wanted more and had very high expectations for the full release, and despite not having finished the game yet, it has been well worth it. Gorgeous graphics, a charming art style, and a lovely soundtrack. If you enjoy puzzle games and cats you will love this, highly recommended.

I normally don't leave reviews, especially with so little play time in the game. However, I feel this game already deserves it. I first played the demo and very quickly knew this was a game I needed to pick up on release. Schrodinger's Cat Burglar is the perfect relaxing puzzle game. It requires little to no mechanical skill, there are (so far) no time sensitive puzzles, and (mostly speaking from my demo experience) the puzzles require thinking in a unique way. I know it is such a buzz word to call a game "Portal but with..." and I agree. I would argue that no puzzle game should try to set out to compare themselves to the GOAT like that. However, I can understand the developer's want to elicit that comparison, because, similar to the first time playing Portal, Schrodinger's Cat Burglar requires you to think entirely differently. Rather than thinking with portals, you have to think with two cats brains. p.s. I have not played Schrodinger's Cat Burglar co-op and probably won't. I feel the puzzles are built in a way that having a second player will make them boringly easy. To me, it feels like the point of the game is trying to break your brain to do two things at once. p.p.s. There is a setting to make the cat stop auto jumping. I felt the game was 100% better with that setting off.
