Absolutly fantastic! Great atmosphere, fun and non frustrating mechanics, and the story is pulling me in with what's already here. The Prey (by bethesda) inspiration was a great choice. I love SCP and am so excited to see more of the facility. The only thing I hope for is to see more strange and weird objects and things along side the creatures as I feel a balance of objects and creatures is what makes SCP special. SO SO good! Amazing job dev team! Also the Dr Miller cameo was peak!

SCP: Fragmented Minds begins with a familiar but effective premise: you awaken from cryosleep inside Mars Site-113, a once-thriving SCP Foundation facility now reduced to a silent, malfunctioning tomb. The moment you step out of the cryo pod, the game establishes its commitment to loneliness and decay. Flickering lights cast long shadows through rusted corridors, alarms echo faintly in the distance, and broken machinery hums with unstable energy. Fragmented Minds leans heavily into atmosphere, and it succeeds—its world feels oppressive, derelict, and full of unanswered questions. As Agent Kovich, your task is not only to survive but to piece together the events that led to the collapse of the outpost, and in doing so uncover the greater threat still lurking within. Exploration forms the backbone of the experience. Much of the early progression is spent moving methodically through the sprawling facility, reading logs, listening to audio messages, and uncovering fragments of a catastrophe that swallowed the site whole. This slow build gives the environment time to breathe and creates a sense of mounting dread. Every new sector feels like a piece of a larger, fractured puzzle—cryo labs, containment chambers, engineering bays, and dark maintenance tunnels all carry their own tone and history. The environmental storytelling is subtle but consistent, giving you the impression that Site-113 wasn’t merely abandoned; it was overtaken by something unnatural, and its traces linger like smudges on a cracked surface. Mechanically, the game combines stealth, survival, light puzzle solving, and sparse combat. In its early access form, Fragmented Minds favors avoidance over confrontation. Resources are scarce, your arsenal is limited, and even your first weapon—an improvised melee tool—reinforces the idea that you are not a prepared soldier but a survivor improvising moment to moment. Puzzles are spread throughout the facility in the form of locked doors, energy rerouting, simple hacking tasks, and environmental obstacles. While none are deeply complex, they help keep the pacing varied and force you to engage with the space rather than sprint through it. The limited combat encounters also contribute to tension, though some of the early enemies—particularly SCP-3199’s unsettling but somewhat awkward creatures—strike a strange tonal balance between eerie and unintentionally humorous. Where the game shines brightest is in its presentation. For an early access title, the visual polish is surprisingly strong. Lighting and shadow are used effectively, giving the abandoned facility a grimy industrial ambiance that feels both authentic and cinematic. Rooms flicker between darkness and emergency lighting, and volumetric fog in certain areas makes traversal feel genuinely tense. The audio design reinforces the mood with distant metallic creaks, low machinery rumbles, and abrupt audio cues that keep the player guessing—and sometimes jumping. Even when nothing is happening, the soundscape makes it feel like something is always about to. There are, however, elements that feel rough around the edges. The pacing sometimes slows to a crawl, with long stretches of exploration that lack escalating threats or revelations. Enemy variety is limited in the current build, and the few anomalies you do encounter appear repeatedly without new mechanics or behavioral twists. Some technical issues—occasional stutters, inconsistent animations, and infrequent crashes—remind you that the game is still in development. While none of these shortcomings break the experience, they do highlight areas where future chapters will need refinement to maintain momentum and deepen the gameplay loop. Despite its early-access limitations, SCP: Fragmented Minds shows strong potential. Its foundation—a moody, atmospheric sci-fi horror adventure with SCP-themed mysteries—already resonates with fans of the universe. The developers’ roadmap suggests a significant expansion of content, including additional chapters, co-op functionality, and a PvP mode, signaling ambition beyond the initial release. For players drawn to exploration-heavy horror, unreliable facilities, and stories built around containment breaches gone wrong, the game offers a compelling first taste of what could become a standout entry in the SCP gaming catalog. As it stands now, SCP: Fragmented Minds excels at creating a tense, immersive atmosphere and a sense of narrative curiosity. It may be slow-paced and still forming its identity, but the groundwork is solid, and the experience is already engaging for those who appreciate methodical sci-fi horror. With further development and the planned expansion of its systems and threats, it has the potential to evolve into a fully realized, gripping adventure that honors the mysterious and dangerous world of the SCP Foundation. At the time of writing this I've only played Chapter 1, as that is all that is out at the moment, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is this game well made! Most Steam SCP games utilize the same few models and have similar storylines, but this is a very refreshing breath of fresh air for anybody who likes SCP games. Especially for only being $12.99 CAD, this game is phenomenal in both graphics and environmental storytelling, with unique mechanics in combat and puzzles. I cannot stress enough how blown away I was to see the first chapter, I definitely feel like I got my moneys worth in playing it, even if the full game isn't out yet. Huge props to the devs, incredible talent being put to work here. Overall 10/10 gaming experience, and a must play for SCP fans. P.S. Only little note, I have noticed that the fire burning out of the pipes can cause frame drop occasionally, but that may just be my PC. Otherwise I have no clue how ya'll pulled off such good graphics for only 14GB and no frame drop!

okay so upsides: main character and persistent cast have decently good voice acting. core mechanics are very good atmosphere is very spooky unique setting for an scp game and lore is interesting sound design is great along with easy to navigate maps UI is some of the best I've seen in a while. Some good puzzles even if they do feel underutilized. downsides: Really short only 2 hrs on avrg (currently only has chapter 1) combat is basic and enemies follow easy to avoid patrol routes crafting underutilized in current chapter with only 3 blueprints given, 2 of which just apply to an upgrade and repair for the wrench limited enemy pool so far very easy to tell when in a load zone due to brief game pause iffy side character voice acting. overall great potential. If you're super into scp games, especially survival horror, could be worth a try when on sale (which I did), but I wouldn't get it at full price right now until more content is added.
