It's alright. In some respects it is the best skateboarding game, and in others it is far from it. The Daily Challenges are a good example of bad development in this game. There was a challenge today that said "Flip into a grind or slide on the 9 stair rail." I had to google it to find out what 9 stair rail they wanted me to skate, which isn't a deal breaker, but is a poor implementation of a system. Vert is worse than Skater XL. Apparently you can mess with experimental/advanced settings to make it tolerable, but it seems like a strange ask considering they built a skatepark that is mostly vert into the base game. I don't really like the board control for grinds, although I appreciate what they were trying to do. No grabs at all, which is a blessing and a curse. I feel like you have to pop tricks too early, especially nollie, and sometimes it seems like if you're hauling ass toward a ramp the game can't translate input into animation fast enough and just ragdolls you. It's far from perfect, but it might be the best skate game. It's hard to get the hang of, but at times very rewarding. At other times, it will have you giving up on stuff that should work but just doesn't. I play it now in short bursts, maybe 20 minutes or so, before I get sick of it and quit, but I always come back.

This game is honestly good. I skate board, and on a rainy day due to the hurricane like yesterday, i played for about 2 hours, and went to bed. It's a good replacement for a time when you can't go skateboarding irl, and is honestly a lot of fun. i've even leanred the names of a couple new tricks. Like who knew about a laser flip?

The best skateboarding simulation game. Might seem hard at first but just get good and you’ll see how insanely good this game is. Finally nailing down that trick you’ve been working on for hours or days feel almost as good as doing it in real life. Highly recommended.

I've been noticing the reviews start to dwindle for this game, and with 245 hours on record my opinion is this... 1. Stop whining about the current state of the game: The devs DON'T patch in updates every 2 weeks like some of you are used to. Instead they work on MASSIVE updates at a time. The last big update for this game was INCREDIBLE. It brought over so many new players and quality of life fixes. Basically everything in the game got a makeover INCLUDING the animations you chads are complaining about. If your 3 flips don't look smooth, fix your settings, and go get better at the game. 2. If you want more of those huge updates, SUPPORT the devs: In other words, stop complaining about the DLCs. Yes, they want you to purchase new maps. Yes, it does go back into making the game... They have to pay their team to work on these massive updates. If you want the updates, buy the DLC. Simple. If not, stop leaving poor reviews on every DLC just because you don't want to support the devs. If you don't like the map, fair. But don't bitch just because the map exists before the next gigantic update does. 3. The people making the game are still just people: With a game ambitious enough to call itself a SKATE SIM, its going to take some time to perfect. if you were expecting this game to be finished by now, sorry to break your bubble, but it probably won't be finished for another year at least. How long have they been working on Skate 4? and that's multi billion dollar "EA". Session is made by a small game studio. If you want a true "skate sim" experience, learn some patience, stop whining, and support the creators of the game you so desperately want perfected overnight. Rant over

I think it's an interesting game environment of nostalgic reveries. Set in the 90's when eco-terrorists such as my old friend, Ted, knocked local power stations and disabled all vehicles with a massive EMP blast shockwave that finally made the cities empty of vehicular traffic and perfect for skating. Except for the ensuing police state and martial law, surveilance systems and barricaded streets, life was refreshingly simple and quiet. Ofcourse, I had to sleep with a certain member of congress to get her to push to keep the skate shops open, but ultimately she saw it my way (what else was gonna keep the people occupied without TV and constant audio/visual propaganda), and then she passed me around to all of her friends. Also, all drugs were officially legalized, keeping most of the population on the nod and tripping balls at home most of the time. Crime was virtually non-existent, until they finally caught the extremists involved in the plot and industrial-state-corporate-capitalism was restored. But I still remember those days fondly. I have since been in therapy for many years to come to terms with the fact that I became a ♥♥♥♥♥ and had to sell my soul.
