If you've read The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle, be warned that this game doesn't follow the story of the novel at all, but does use the locations and some of the characters. Instead, this is a hidden objects game along with some light puzzles, which makes it very different to the other Sherlock Holmes games in the Frogwares series. However, it's all done very well and I enjoyed my time with the game. The locations are rendered superbly, and the voice work is excellent. Finding the hidden objects and solving the puzzles can be frustrating sometimes (especially as the music is on a loop while you do so), but you can always get a hint (assuming you're playing the game with that option enabled).

finished the game Sherlock Holmes and The Hound of The Baskervilles very decent game IMO the puzzles can be as hard as you want them i picked normal difficulty and only struggled on one which was a surprise graphically its a little dated but still look good to me and the fact it runs smooth is a bonus voices are fine and the sounds are pretty good sometimes the music grates and can be a little too much during the cut scenes...all in all the story was ok and not exactly accurate but gave me the feeling of being back in time and solving some annoying puzzles ...defo worth my time 6 hours all in and ill play it again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MldjY-MKQQ8&t=23s

Unlike the original book, this game's following a fantasy story. Personally I think that was a smart choice of the creators, because else wise real Sherlock Holmes fans would already know the plot (by the way, the unexpected ending was surprsing me in a good way). The gameplay is a genre mix between click and point adventure and hidden object games. Most times it sticks to the click and point part, but for receiving some quest items, the game will show a screen full of objects instead and you have to pick out all of the objects mentioned in a list below of the screen for earning the necessary object. Those hidden object games are sometimes really challenging, because some of those objects are blending in perfectly with the background environment and can be hard to find then. You are able to skip every puzzle and hidden object game if you wish, but then you won't receive every achievement of this game. I can recommend this short game to anyone, who wishes to solve some challenging puzzles and who doesn't mind to beat a game fast in only 5 hours.

Hi, I'm back again already, less than 24 hours after submitting my review of Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper. My journey through Frogware's games about the legendary detective has brought me to another hidden object adventure game. Unlike the Persian Carpet, this is a bog standard HOAG like so many others I've played and reviewed. There are no detective elements; just find objects and do interactions. Shockingly, this hidden object game has the same incredible voice actors for Holmes and Watson from the adventure games! There's not much for them to say here, but it was nice to hear them at least one more time. This is the first Frogwares Sherlock Holmes game with Steam achievements. I tried to get all the achievements in one playthrough, but it's not possible due to bad/jerkwad programming. The achievement for completing the game, "Detective Assistant," doesn't activate upon completing the game on Hard difficulty. The achievement for completing the tutorial is also unavailable on Hard. I decided to replay the game on Easy, slamming through it as quickly as possible while it was still fresh in my mind. It took about 70-80 minutes. A random hidden object game is a suitable way to demarcate eras for Frogwares' Sherlock Holmes adventures, as the next game, "Testament of...," looks to be significantly different than the unofficial "trilogy" of Awakened, Nemesis and "...Versus Jack the Ripper."

It's a simple and enjoyable game! Just give it a try, and don't think about the old graphics. Old-school adventure awaits you. It has a good story, and you all wanted to complete it at one time. It is only like 5 hours. Enjoy it!
