It is very repetitive but there is a sense of growth upgrading the the shanty town and your equipment. There isn't a story or any kind of purpose other than make money and upgrade. So i can see how it can get boring fast. I'm more into this game for the achievements.

A fun and relaxing unique game. Not overly complicated or difficult. But I strongly recommend you get the Submarines Add-on because without it the backpack space is dismal and annoying. The Submarines addition (not too expensive, currently only $4) gives you access to upgrades to your backpack. Unless you don't mind going back and forth to your car every 5 minutes. Forget calling it the Submarines Add-on, it should be called "The more room in your Backpack Spaces" Add-on. Oh and additional beginner note: Only rent the $1 Boat until you know what is going on. Jolly good fun to be had here.

This is the far better game in comparison to the sequel. Atmosphere, game loop mechanic, progress system and many other things is far better to second game. . It's a pity for developers that they don't develop this game anymore. Developers should work on this game.

Review after hitting 100% achievements. Very solid simulator, fun to destroy all items on board of the ship but you are not actually destroying the ship itself (besides the sidepanels of the bigger ships). Overall, great value, amazing level up system and different zones to upgrade so you get overall bonusses, increased inventory, better tools, increased sprint speed etc.... Had a real blast getting all the achievements, only the last 5 hours out of the 50+ got a bit repetitive.
