Yes and No. The game mechanics is fun but it needs balance and less RNG. It's frustrating you keep drawing card you don't want so you couldn't progress.

In Simmiland you start out with a randomly generated map, a deck of cards, and one "mankind" card which you will place first thus creating x1 person and beginning your civilization. From there you are dealt out a hand from the deck and will place cards one at a time on the map, redrawing to replace each card you use until you exhaust the deck. Your goal is to take that one little human with nothing and eventually send a rocket to space by the time you reach the end of the deck. The deck and hands are randomly shuffled so each play is different. As you earn "stars" from each run, you can buy additional cards to add to your deck, which improve your ability to provide new resources and evolve your people. So, in subsequent runs your goals will be more obtainable. The catch is that you cannot control how your people will behave as you place the cards around them. Each card represents some very basic thing, like mineral, tree, plant, sun, rain, wind, inspect, sample, critter, human, etc. Each card, when placed, will interact in some combination with the biome you place it on, another card you have placed upon that, or both. In this way you will propel your people forward from a neanderthal-like state to modern man. Each time you fulfill a "wish" of one of your people you will generate a certain amount of the resource necessary to place more cards. You have to balance between moving your society forward and placating your people. It's entertaining in the way that sea monkeys are entertaining. There are no tutorials so it's all trial-and-error but I think it's fairly intuitive once you get a grip on the core mechanic and have a few ah-ha! moments. My biggest criticism is the RNG is totally wild so it can take quite a while to be successful (and I still only have half the achievements). Remembering the correct sequence of things and how to sort of steer your people to do what you need them to do while dealing with the card draws can be frustrating after a while, especially since there's not a ton of variation over the course of several playthroughs. The longest run I've had so far I think was in the ballpark of 48 minutes. Due to the UI and how much you are clicking on things, I think this is best played with K+M otherwise it gets a little brutal on the ole phalanges. Speaking of the UI, I wish you could zoom out a little more to see the entire map area without scrolling around. I only have one other Sokpop Collective game and that's Stacklands and I haven't played it too much so I can't comment on the developer in general. My understanding is that they have a quick turnaround on publishing short little titles, some with varying amounts of success. Although I find it charming, I'm not too sure under what circumstance I would recommend Simmiland. It's a bite-sized auto civ/sim EDIT: god game with card mechanics and rudimentary graphics that you can play in between other things. Giving it a thumbs up but probably best on discount. If you already have it in your library I think it's worth a peep.
