Another great P&C puzzle adventure from Mateusz Playtime: 5-8 hrs (to credits) Difficulty: ★★★★☆ Important preface: The first Steam screenshot (F12 hotkey) crashes the game and corrupts your save file! But only the first, took a ton of screenshots after that with no issues. Get over it asap, then you are good to go. Slice of Sea is very much close to Submachine Legacy in general design direction, just not as long. The game demands extreme observation and good memory, memorizing where you found what exactly is crucial. That is why I recommend you to finish this game in one or two sessions maximum, and take a lot of screenshots of interactable objects or puzzles you can't solve early. At some point, you will probably resort to using a guide to nudge you in the right direction, because it is easy to miss a well-hidden key item you need to progress. Sometimes you will need to borderline pixel hunt, and backtrack quite a lot, so if you don't like that, this game might not be for you. Lots of hidden collectibles (shells and coins) and good, satisfying puzzles. Obviously Mateusz' artstyle and ambience is phenomenal as usual.

Oh wow, this game has a huge and strange world that kept me amused for hours. It is beautifully drawn and the music is perfect. Some of the puzzles are clear but all the while you collect things and I'm still not sure why I was collecting some of them. A lot of the inventory was left over and the ending was a little abrupt so I wonder if there will be more to this weirdness in the future. I hope so! I totally enjoyed this game. Thank you.

Stunning music and gameplay, even better visuals. Tough for the brain, that is for sure, but still managable. Hard but in an easy and logical way. It is great to let that little bastard go home at last. 10/10 recommend.

This game is remarkable for original background art and immersive gameplay*, less for a coherent plot as you dash in and out of vistas with decaying machinery, trains, etc., and speed toward your unknown destination. But I've spent hours and hours on it without gaining a single Steam "achievement." The achievements must be pretty unremarkable if that is the case. I've had the game on pause for several years. Might get back to it if I can overcome my annoyance. *Gameplay is a legitimate word, so please tell the Steam bot and remove the irritating squiggly underlines.

another banger from mateusz skutnik. the man really can't miss. i wasn't sure how much i'd like the keyboard aspect given my over-familiarity with the submachine and daymare town mechanics, but Seaweed is charming and the movement adds a fun element. i appreciate that you don't need to be standing right on top of something to interact with it, so it's still very much a point and click. as with his other games, most puzzles are relatively straightforward once you put your mind to it, but there's a lot of schlepping. adore as always anyways, and i'll probably end up revisiting this one like i do with his others. thanks M!
