A poetic tale of exploration, salvation, and rebirth. Before you play or even buy this game, please know what to expect and what it is not! In this game, there are: (1) great emotional soundtrack (2) relaxing and slow-paced gameplay (3) a touching story (nothing is spoken, but I believe it's interpretable through the MC's actions) (4) serene landscape and atmosphere (5) a fox! In this game, you won't find: (1) combat (2) well-polished physics or amazingly smooth control (3) serious platforming/maneuvering/puzzle challenge (4) ostensible visual hints for the collectibles (5) multiple endings and replayability (6) any explicit explanation of the story or anything Before you play or even buy this game, please know what to expect and what it is not! The story progresses linearly through 8 chapters. The main objective in Ch1~Ch6 is to fetch the sticks staffs back to the remains of deceased shamans to release their spirits from a plague-stricken deserted world. Along the way, the fox explores the wild and ruins, and it more or less finds out what happened to this world and approaches the origin of the problem, under the guidance of a weary spirit fox. In the end of Ch6, both foxes are afflicted by the plague and "die", transferred to the spirit world , but the MC fox doesn't give up, it fights the temptation to end the journey and rest for the eternity in the serene and pristine world of the spirits . The MC fox finds and saves its companion, and together, they solve the problem in the final Ch8. It takes two foxes to cleanse the plague , our MC fox is the destined partner of the spirit fox for this grand quest. In the end, they ascended to divinity together, looking over this revived world . There are not that many convoluted plot twists and complex mechanics, so it's fine for the game to have minimal hand-holding. Most of the achievements are story-bound, you'll get them naturally. Releasing all the 28 shaman spirits in Ch1~6 takes some exploration. Only about 5 of them are story-bound, the rest can be hidden in tricky corners. Given that it is not an open world, each environment only has that much space to explore, it is not that difficult to find them all. The only achievement that requires some maneuvering skill is staying airborne for 8 seconds. But I got it while stuck in a bug with the physics engine... I jumped onto a rock which isn't meant to be landed on, and the fox was frozen in a falling pose for more than 8s. The most irritating achievement is the one where you have to find all 28 shaman spirits again in Ch7. The map of Ch7 is massive, you can't open a world map, and there are no coordinates, so you can only navigate as a fox, relying only on your sense of directions. About 5 of the spirits each walks along a not very short path, and there's no way to distinguish each spirit, so these walking dudes might cause some confusion... "have I already seen this guy????". Two dudes in particular are meditating at two spots where you wouldn't naturally think about exploring. If you get stuck at this achievement or simply get dizzy running around the woods and the fortress, you may just check out the playthrough video made by some good Samaritans. Enjoy your journey!

I was genuinely enchanted by Spirit of the North, It’s not perfect the most notable flaws are the occasionally clunky controls, some frustrating platforming sections, and the odd glitch here and there but I still thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The fact that this game was made by only two people is incredibly impressive! While it’s not the most graphically stunning title, the visuals are still beautiful in their own way. I love that there’s no dialogue and the focus stays entirely on the foxes it gives the story a quiet, emotional charm. The music also does a fantastic job of elevating the mood the soundtrack is so good that I still listen to it from time to time. Definitely give it a try if you love foxes and can overlook a few rough edges.

Rating: 100% – And still, it’s not about that. Spirit of the North is not a game that shouts. It doesn’t try to impress you with systems, maps, or mechanics. It simply exists – quietly, gently, and with unexpected emotional gravity. You’re not a hero. You’re not on a mission. You’re a fox. And you’re there – in a world that feels like it's already lost everything. And yet… there’s something left to do. What makes this game special isn’t its challenge – it’s its resonance . The landscapes are hauntingly beautiful, even years after release. The snowy beginning left a mark on me I didn’t expect – and while I personally wish there had been more of those cold, white expanses, the journey that follows still feels true . Everything is placed with intention, even the silence. And yes… I explored. I found all the spirits. I stood still for no reason at all. Because sometimes, you don’t play to finish. You play to feel . Spirit of the North is not for everyone. It won’t explain itself to you. But if you let it in – if you slow down and listen – it’ll stay with you long after the credits fade. This was never just about finishing a game. It was about walking with meaning. — No spoilers. No checklist talk. Just… a quiet thank you to a game that dared to speak softly.

Just because it's a game about an adorable fox you think we will want to play it? Correct, we will. Time to buy and get going. I'm a simple guy. I see fox, I buy. This game is for sensitive people who like nature and want to relax. I absolutely enjoyed this beauty of a game. The older I get the more I enjoy these little adventure games over big epic games that take months to finish. Just a few short fun games to have the experience. My daughter used to play a game like this when she was younger. A lot of these types of games are more about imagination and providing somewhat of a sandbox environment. Sure, as an adult there might not be much to do, but for a child with a big imagination who loves animals, this is pretty cool! Fortunately for me it was perfect. It was definitely no Stray but it has its charm. I absolutly LOVED this game! I do not regret buying it!! For those who don't know, this game was made by three guys! THREE! Two worked on the game and the third one on the soundtrack! They did an amazing job! Hands down guys! Beautiful game, beautiful soundtrack and the ending was just as beautiful. I looooveee games with environmental aspects and amazing graphics, and the storyline was amazing. No voice lines, just actions, and yet it's one of the best stories l've seen. The game reminds me of Endling and The First Tree and definitely was moved to tears by the end. This game is absolutely brilliant. It's made me actually want to go on holiday to Iceland to see this beautiful scenery for myself. I also love the story behind this, the usual boy meets girl and their relationship grows. I also loved the playful aspects of the game, the barking and jumping and interactions with the girl spirit fox. There's no difficulty level within this game, it's basically you have to figure it out for yourself. I personally really enjoyed it, yes it's a little clunky here and there and its no journey by any means but these type of games do click with me so maybe I am biased. I personally feel you need to not be thinking about achievements or challenges or difficulty etc to enjoy games like this. You need to escape reality and apply your own imagination, and almost create your own story. I see them as half completed paintings and it's my job to fill in the blanks, you get out of it what your imagination puts in so to speak. I feel like there are so few games where you can just run around as a cute animal doing stuff. But I love games like that, that are centred more around journeying through the game and experiencing every part of it. I like all kinds of games, but I always keep an eye out for types of games like these; they're usually so chill and relaxing too, a lot of the time, and always top notch visually, no matter what the art style is. Idk I guess it's not really a game for everyone, but it's beautiful, the music is amazing, and the story is actually pretty good while somehow being communicated amazingly without speaking or showing a single word. But if you feel like running around solving puzzles with amazing scenery I would recommend it! I loved it but I played it stoned. 8/10

The thing with all the retards that populate the earth is they cannot comprehend the difference between personal opinion and actual facts. All of you bitching about the game are simply unintelligent. What the fuck did you expect, a furry DLC for Warzone with a unicorn shaped buttplug? FFS.. Objectively, this game is beautiful. [*]It runs flawlessly [*]The music is incredible. [*]The world is vast [*]The puzzles are just hard enough to make you think but simple enough to allow you to chill. [*]It makes you FEEL all the way through. You're always amazed at something. [*]Good amount of collectibles, enough to incite you to explore. I can't wait to play the sequel. In my opinion, this is a 10/10.
