Finally a hacking game that uses real DOS commands! Super short, would love to a longer fleshed out version! I recommend taking the content warnings seriously though, this experience will be extremely uncomfortable for some; it tells the story that it wants to.

i really REALLY hope mike makes a longer game with this style, because what's there is incredibly well made and anxiety inducing as hell (especially towards the end).

Before Buckshot Roulette, Mike was mainly known on itch.io for making short but deliciously dark lo-fi horror games. This is another one of those, and probably his most refined work in that respect. It's essentially a retrofuturist hacking game, complete with honest-to-God DOS commands. It's a solid romp, if a bit slow and obtuse at times. The narrative is simple, writing is sharp. The worldbuilding is very much implied, but it's coherent and works for the story it's trying to tell. When the game hits its climax it essentially becomes an interactive movie, and that's fine by me - but if you were expecting more hacking, you might be disappointed here. Still, it takes about an hour to beat and get both endings, probably less if you're accustomed to DOS commands, and it's more than fairly priced. Quality stuff if you like narrative-focused, slow-burn, contemplative horror games.

Really cool but realistically way too short. Fleshed out version would be rad.
