There was Midnight Club, Juiced and then there was this, Street Racing Syndicate. Back in the mid 2000s after Need for Speed Underground blew up and became an instant hit worldwide a lot of other developers tried to recreate this success or just wanted to ride the hype around the tuner street racing subculture of the time. This game is pure guilty pleasure. Is the game good? Technically speaking, no. - The number of playable licensed cars are too low. The game says it has 50 cars, but in reality its only around 14 because one car model has like three or four edition variations. - The soundtrack is kinda ass. - There could be more tuning options. - There are too few races. - The police chases in the open world are just place holders because they are way too easy. - The respect grind just so you can finish the game is atrocious. - The enemy ai is way too trigger happy to crash into you during races for which the game punishes you, the player by detracting respect points. But despite all the weaknesses I still enjoyed the game. Except the part where I had to redo the two penultimate race series for ten hours to farm out enough respect points to be able to do the final race which is so easy compared to the other two that is pretty much doable on the first try. But then again I still enjoyed my first time with this game, but that's probably only because I love these NFSU style street racing games and mid 2000s pc janks. Would I recommend it to other NFSU fans? Only if they have already played to original and want to play something similar, just be ready that it is going to be a more bootleg experience. Btw SRS style wise is closer to NFSU then MC or Juiced. Lastly I like to say a few words about the games most unique feature, that sets it apart from the competition, the girlfriend system. It is obvious that their goal was targeting a more mature audience compared to EA while also competing with them, so that's why you'll only get bikini dance videos and nothing anymore spicy. Also if anybody would look into the history of the tuner subculture they would know that hot babes were just as much part of it as fast and bright colored cars. The videos and the way you acquire them also has that typical mid 2000s jank feel to it but to me its endearing and it was also a good look into a time capsule to see what was considered the 'standard female beauty' at the time. It is also cool that many of the girls are not just some random hookers they paid 500$ for three dance videos, but professional models for Playboy, porn actresses' or reality tv actresses and some of them even became big after they were featured in the game. Tldr: Game is ok, if you want AAA quality you not going to get it, if you like mid 2000s pc jank you'll like it, if you like NFSU tuner street racing games you going to enjoy it. 6.5/10

Best street racing game: - Has legendary JDMs - Tune according to your driving style - The city ambient is the way I want it to be in a street racing game - Engaging soundtrack, matches the game's theme. - Beautiful girls Nobody makes racing games as good as this one nowadays.

Old classic game that deserves more recognition that tried to beat nfs and juiced series. For the community that reads the reviews (and dev team case they actually read). B4 I quit using steam for my safety, this is the message I want to spread around for the community. I wish everyone an happy new year. Stay safe. <3

SRS often goes on sale under 1$ which is a steal for what it offers. It has free-roam, a damage model, cops, customization and more. Its a little outdated and not up to standard in many areas in comparison to NFS, but it has a great vibe and offers some stuff NFS of that era didnt. The car selection is limited but very unique, like i cant even remember if i saw a Toyota MR2 or late Celica in a racing game ever. Definetly worth playing, especially since the NFS Underground games aren't availible anywhere and this scratches that itch.

Bought now for 0.62 pound. Runs with no issues on my current PC. Found a resolution patch on github. After seeing the game in 1920x1080... my old save file from 2006 showed up on profiles list... AND IT WORKS
