Sunrider Liberation Day has a very different feel compared to Mask of Arcadius (previous game). That said, if you were engaged by the previous game, you will most likely still like this. Liberation Day's story is a bit more negative than the previous story, and puts less emphasis on the space opera daring captain and his ragtag crew, and focuses more on intrigue and betrayal. I personally think this was all executed very well, and this game fully engaged me (I have been swallowed whole by the Sunrider franchise). Liberation Day has a different feel from MoA because you have your degree of control removed, while you watch the events of the main story arc play out. Apparently, this was controversial, which I have been told is why the developers released the Captain's Edition, which reworked the ending, as well as added REturn, which is a time-travelling arc separate from the main storyline. I can definitely say that I really like the intrigue of the main storyline, and I also have enjoyed the routes in REturn I have played insofar. I like how the clear actions and consequences contrasts with the main game, and I must admit I am a fan of the whole time-travelling theme. On the technical side, I really like the new artstyle. It adds new depth, and in my opinion is superior to Mask of Arcadius. The voiceacting took me a little while to get used to (especially after listening to their voices in English in the first game), but it's grown on me, and I am definitely a fan now. Some minor changes were made to gameplay, such as animation removal, and some other minor changes, but the core features are essentially identical to MoA, including difficulty customisability. The gameplay still possesses the clunkiness of the previous game, but I still enjoyed it. Would recommend.

This game not good as Mask of Arcadius. Many plots or visual novel lines are kind of build after another in short term. But, [Re]turn romance ok, and the game itself is not bad at all, just don't give it too much high standard.
