It's addicting, and an overall fun game albeit a bit repetitive. I know people love to trash the story, but it's okay for what it is: just a gacha game. Don't overanalize it, just have some (dumb) fun.

There are variants that will never become canon so it gets interesting. It doesn't receive updates anymore but if you could get it on sale, it's worth it. Especially if you like what-if scenarios in Dragon Ball.

Ok so first of all: for those that came here to see if they would like the game or not before buying, do so ONLY if you're a fan of the Dragon Ball saga. SDBH is pure fan service and it's not your usual Budokai / Tenkaichi fighting game. There's a free demo for you to try, it sums up pretty much everything you're gonna do on this game. Now, let's review this. I've wanted to play Heroes for so long.. I was utterly happy when I found out about the Steam version and got myself a copy almost immediately. Super Dragon Ball Heroes is — as any DB connoisseur knows — pure fan service; and regardless of the absolute nonsense that the promotional anime was (still good tho, ngl), the story here is easier to understand and feels less fast-paced than the show does. If you're like me and love secondary characters that sadly don't get enough love, then this game's for ya. Characters like Hoi, Yamu, Minotia, Raditz, PuiPui and any other you can imagine for the DB universe got a chance to shine here. Add to that Heroes OCs and cool new stuff such as Xeno Janemba, Baby Hatchiyack, SSJ4 Broly, etx. Like I said before, pure fan service, and it's sick! It has its downsides ofc, though very few. The game can feel repetitive at times, since almost every match plays the same way, with the same animations and such. Sometimes the CIs (a game mechanic) might feel rigged, either in your favor or against you, and some mechanics are hella eaay, although hard to master if you're heading into online mp battles. The English localization isn't great either, but it's no big deal. There's really no big cons on this one. The game will take a lot to 100%, with +3k cards (= characters), and dozens of missions, including community ones. That aside its story mode that isn't any short either. As a side note, this game follows the alternative timeline canon; starting with the movies, followed by GT and then the Demons and Time Patrollers stuff (as seen in Xenoverse). So if you consider yourself a Dragon Ball fan you don't want to miss out on this one!
