Take Me, Vitaly is a strange, provocative, and deliberately uncomfortable indie experience that blends stealth gameplay, environmental puzzles, and dark comedy into a single, surreal escape scenario. Developed by Старый Билд and published by Старый Билд alongside Ducat, the game drops players into a situation that feels equal parts horror parody, social satire, and absurdist nightmare. From the very beginning, it makes clear that it is not interested in comfort or conventional storytelling, instead pushing players into an unsettling cat-and-mouse struggle that constantly blurs the line between tension and dark humor. You play as Maria, who wakes up after a party inside the sprawling home of a man named Vitaly, only to realize that leaving is not going to be simple. The objective is straightforward on paper—escape the house and reach your car—but the path to freedom is anything but simple. The environment is packed with locked doors, blocked passages, and improvised obstacles that require scavenging, experimentation, and problem-solving. Everyday objects become tools, distractions, or lifelines, and learning how the house functions is as important as finding the right items. The layout itself feels intentionally disorienting, reinforcing the sense of being trapped in someone else’s space. Stealth is the core of the experience, and Vitaly serves as a constant, unpredictable threat. He roams the house relentlessly, reacting to sound, movement, and player mistakes. Unlike traditional horror antagonists that follow scripted patrols, Vitaly’s presence feels invasive and personal, forcing players to stay alert at all times. Hiding is often improvised and uncomfortable—bathrooms, closets, and awkward corners become temporary sanctuaries. Creating distractions, breaking line of sight, and timing your movements carefully are essential skills, turning even mundane actions into moments of high tension. A key element that keeps the game engaging across multiple playthroughs is its semi-randomized structure. Item placement changes between runs, meaning escape routes and strategies must be adapted rather than memorized. This roguelike touch gives the game replay value and reinforces its themes of uncertainty and improvisation. Sometimes you’ll stumble upon exactly what you need early on; other times you’ll be forced to take risks and explore dangerous areas to progress. Each successful escape feels earned, not because of mastery over fixed systems, but because of smart decision-making under pressure. Tonally, Take Me, Vitaly leans heavily into black comedy and satire. The game knowingly plays with horror tropes, uncomfortable social dynamics, and exaggerated character behavior to create moments that are as absurd as they are unsettling. Vitaly himself is portrayed less as a traditional slasher villain and more as an exaggerated, grotesque caricature, which adds an element of parody to the fear he generates. Animations, interactions, and environmental details often cross into the ridiculous, creating an uneasy blend of laughter and discomfort that defines the game’s identity. Visually, the game occupies an uncanny middle ground between realism and stylization. The house feels lived-in, cluttered, and reactive, with destructible elements, mirrors, and interactive props that make the environment feel tangible. While the graphics are not technically cutting-edge, they serve the atmosphere well, emphasizing claustrophobia and intrusion rather than spectacle. The sound design is particularly effective, with creaks, footsteps, and environmental noises constantly feeding into the stealth mechanics and heightening tension when Vitaly is nearby. Mature and provocative content is an integral part of the game’s presentation and tone. Sexual imagery, nudity, and suggestive situations are used deliberately to unsettle and provoke reactions rather than to provide traditional fan service. This aspect of the game has sparked debate among players, as its humor and themes can feel transgressive or uncomfortable depending on individual sensibilities. The game does not attempt to soften these elements, instead embracing controversy as part of its artistic identity, which makes it unsuitable for some audiences but compelling for others seeking boundary-pushing indie experiences. Community reception reflects this polarizing nature, yet the game has been widely praised by players who appreciate unconventional design and emergent gameplay. Many highlight its replayability, tension, and originality, noting that few games manage to feel this unpredictable and personal in their stealth encounters. Criticisms tend to focus less on mechanical flaws and more on the discomfort of its themes, underscoring that enjoyment of Take Me, Vitaly depends heavily on a player’s tolerance for dark humor and provocative subject matter. Ultimately, Take Me, Vitaly is a bold and unapologetic indie title that thrives on discomfort, absurdity, and tension. It doesn’t aim to be polished, safe, or universally appealing; instead, it commits fully to its unsettling premise and lets emergent gameplay do much of the storytelling. For players drawn to offbeat horror, stealth-driven escape scenarios, and games that challenge social norms as much as mechanical skill, it offers a memorable and distinctly strange experience that lingers long after the escape is complete. Surprisingly good and fun to play! At first, I expected it to be just another typical sex simulator, but it turned out to be more like a sex simulator for the soul, which I found very satisfying. While I’m usually not a fan of Hello Neighbor-style runaway mechanics, this game made it enjoyable. The voice acting is amusing, and the small jokes scattered throughout added a nice touch. Definitely recommended, and I’m looking forward to future updates please keep developing it!

If I don't see Vitaly as the next enemy in Outlast - The Trials alongside Leland Coyle and Mother Gooseberry, I will be very, very offended. Edit: I am offended
