🏆 The Expanse: A Telltale Series I've not watched the TV show. So I can't compare it to that. But I think it stands on its own merit. 1. Graphics, Art & Design. Probably one of the best looking Telltale games. 2. Sound & Music. Good. 3. Playability & Replayability. Probably worth a couple of playthroughs. 4. Game length and does it value the players time. Each episode satisfied me. 5. Value for money. Easily worth it on sale. 6. Quality of the port. Good. 7. Overall review scores. Some say it's only worth it if you're a fan of the show.
As a fan of the TV Show, and a huge nostalgia craver, I must say I really enjoyed this game. Having Cara Gee in the voice of Camina is such a huge element of it. The story is very very simple, decisions have good weight in the outcomes and there are nice scenarios, that I particularly enjoyed taking screenshots to. Listening to the music of the TV Show and some space action scenes was very nice. Surprised to see THAT character in the final Episode, it sent me back to S2. Recommended game *at a nice discount*, for lonely calm nights. Belta ku! Beltalowda!
Very very very slow build up for what is, arguably, the most cinematic Telltale experience to this day. Voice acting is spot on, including actors from the TV show itself. New and fresh art style which doesn't disappoint. I actually enjoyed exploring in 0g. (To the people saying the game is too short: you clearly haven't done enough of that). The game lacks the huge amount of QTEs that Telltale has gotten us used to, so you could say it is less engaging and more of a movie, however, the exploration parts make up for that. Best played with a controller, the only bad thing I have to say is the mouse sensitivity is really low, but not something you can't get used to. Definitely worth picking up while on sale, even if you're not a fan of the show. Don't miss out
The Expanse: A Telltale Series nails the show's atmosphere from minute one — the Belt's grit, its politics, its stale recycled air. Sasa ke? The six-degrees-of-freedom scavenging is the real highlight: drifting through a wrecked ship with no proper up or down captures that zero-g disorientation better than most space games bother to try. Dialogue and choices are classic Telltale, but here they land. Drummer stays true to the character we know from TV, and your calls actually shape where things end up. The on-rails action sequences are fine, nothing fancy — but let's be clear: the story is the ship, everything else is just cargo. If the story grabs you, the game grabs you, whatever you think of the mechanics. My one real complaint, welwala: it's too short. I'd have kept going another month, easy.
I've never played a Telltale game. I like action and FPS games. But, I've read all the Expanse books, and unlike other works, I'm not sure the books are better than the TV show because it was so damned good. After rewatching the TV show, I wanted more. When I saw that Cara Gee did the voice for Drummer after doing such a great job on the show, I bought it. Fantastic! Some say this isn't the greatest Telltale game, but as a fan of the novels and show, this is an excellent addition to The Expanse universe. The Telltale artistic style does a great job with the facial expressions of the actors whiie being original. The Avasarala DLC is very good too. I'd never imagine having fun playing an office simulator, but playing a game with her backstory with Aghdashloo VO, who knocked it out of the park in the show and the game,is undeniable. $27 for 7 hours of top-notch Expanse lore and voice acting is worth it.
