Great fun, very nice graphics and a story to follow. The game is fairly well laid out and easy to use HUD.

The main issue is with the Kalypso launcher required to start the game. This is completely messed up. I found a way to bypass that nonsense by scrolling with the scroll wheel over the launcher that magically starts the game with no account creation required at all [it worked for me at least]. Once you get the game started, you will not be disappointed - its a great experience. This game was created prior to concept of 'Modern Audiences' and as such is a great old fashioned 'gamer's game'. Templar Nuns with Big Guns medieval style. The stoic Templar Knight and his busty companion for the majority of the journey make a good visual combination - but do not be distracted brothers for the Holy Grail must be found. Although the game is old now, the graphics are outdated but still very scenic. Each game level is set as a linear progression from point A to point B [with a few side quests to side track you] - but still enjoyable as such. The levels surrounding the Fall of Acre [1291 AD] were good. The plot reveal [late in the story] as to why the game is called 'The First Templar' even though its set around the end of the Crusader States was interesting. The game is a mixture of both hack and slash and puzzle solving mixed together - so strengthen both your mind as well as your finger tips for the adventure ahead. All in: its a good game. I would recommend it. Find the Holy Grail! Deus Vult!

The First Templar is and was (played on the 360 back when lol) a great game to play. I enjoyed the historical info in here and the combat was smooth for the time period it was made. Now a day players might find it clunky but imo is well worth the price and time value you will get out of it. Gameplay wise this game can be described as a simpler, more compact version of Assassin's Creed with some light RPG elements. Even though it can be a bit rough around the edges at times, it's a pretty decent game overall. The combat system is good and the story too. I enjoyed it.

I've played and enjoyed this game on pc and wish that I could use a cotroller with it. Maybe the steam deck can make that happen
