im editing my review after fully completting the game. i felt stubborn and made it before i had completed the side content, which is necessary to understand the full story in all its components. this game, and by extension the house in fata morgana, are without a doubt, my favourite pieces of fiction of all time. ive never once tried this hard to get my friends into a franchise and unto two games like this before. i feel so deeply passionate about this series. please play this game. please play the main game too (that one first is important). these games present the most outstanding story about love and companionship, and it truly feels as if its not that close, this game was that heavy for me. ive never once gotten so emotional from a piece of media before, and ive played a lot of games. i cannot articulate properly how i felt playing these games, or how they made me feel afterwards. there is so much id kill to discuss, so many spoilers i wish i could talk about. please play them. these games opened my eyes to visual novels as a genre, id always look down on them before without ever really paying them any mind. the reason as to why i prefer the prequel over the main game is something i cannot discuss. you need to experience this without any prior knowledge. the emotional weight this game holds up to and especially including fragment cannot be understated. there is so much beauty in a game this tragic. morgana and jacopo are some of my favourite characters of all time. play THIFM or else.

I thought I wrote a review for this ages ago but apparently not. It is excellent. I won’t be spoiling anything of course, but do note that this is a prequel that ABSOLUTELY must be read AFTER the main story (The House in Fata Morgana). You will know what this story is about from that fact alone. Excellent character writing and story as is to be expected, and I also believe it has much better pacing than the main story.

While not as in-depth as the main game, this was a fantastic extra chapter that I thoroughly enjoyed. The small stories were well-done as well (though only one was of any real length). Don't play this if you haven't played the main game, as it spoils a good chunk of the plot. My only real issue is that the characters use a lot of modern slang despite living a thousand years in the past, which did take me out of the experience a little bit. Not enough to ruin the game, but it did irk me from time to time.

Basically when torture chamber the visual novel isn't enough so they made torture chamber 2 very detailed version of the first one. Gut-wrenching, tear-jerking, it has it all... very peak story.

The greatest piece of fiction I've ever experienced to be honest. This story will stick with me until the day I snuff it. I remember when I completed it, I went to bed thinking about only it, I slept dreaming of it, then woke up the next day immediately thinking about it some more. This stuff is life changing, honest. Also Serie de Fragmento is the best song ever.
