It's a good, first-person escape room style game. Played this a while ago so I don't remember too many details. However I do remember that it was full of puzzles that were fair and entertaining. No danger or combat or anything like that. Just puzzles. A lot of them.

Not a bad game, kind of a story telling by navigating through a house, finding keys / objects and unlocking doors / boxes etc for secrets. Nothing too challenging, just a bit tedious to walk around and remember things. There's one puzzle I got stuck though and even hint / Googling didn't help, but I solved it by luck after some time It's the mask ordering thing which seems buggy, try to touch every mask in case you're stuck. It seems I never touched some mask that are already in the correct position and that's the problem. Oh by the way the game got a bit of stuttering in the graphic, if that can be fixed it will be more enjoyable.

If you're looking for games that's sort of similar to the painscreek killings , then this is the game for you. It's packed with puzzles and mystery. Personally, I love the exploration and interactivity showcased in the game. But please note that if you're the type of person who doesn't have the patience to go back and forth in some areas, then maybe it's best to skip this one.

Ambient, easy-on-the-eyes solo puzzle adventure. Heavier on the atmosphere, lighter on the challenge, this still turned out to be a pleasant, relaxing ride. Inheritance matters are usually a lot more stressful to navigate… Without wasting too much time on such frivolities as set-up or backstory, the game dropped me off straight at the foyer of an enormous posh mansion, with a note that my now former employer (unexpectedly dead with the rest of the family presumed to be deceased as well) trusts me to sort out a matter of his will. I’m all for slightly sinister in-medias-res scenarios, so I flexed my fingers and reached for obligatory broken doorknob, conveniently placed in the drawer nearby… Let me in, coach! I know what I’m in for. Firstly, a suddenly disturbing developments I had no idea my boss was a part of (the game dutifully warned me that I might not like what I discover); and secondly – a perplexing mandatory insistence on wanting something to be resolved and yet making sure that a person working on it would have the hardest time getting to a solution. After all, if you’d just place a will in the safe with a code to use post-mortem, there would be no game. But if you bring in an unsuspecting assistant and then blast him with all kinds of codes and puzzles you worked on for years - to prevent him from getting easily what you want him to get … Now you’ve got yourself a game, logic be damned. I don’t necessarily mind this approach because, let’s face it, a large portion of fiction in any medium wouldn’t exist if people were to be too nitpicky about common sense, but also because I was here for the puzzle and surrounding atmosphere more so than for the story. The scenario I found myself in here is extremely popular in solo exploration puzzles/ escape room games, so as long as it had a modicum of originality (it did), and as long as it brought on whatever ambience the developer was gunning for, I was good to go. As far as that ambience… I liked it, I liked it quite a lot. In a world full of empty mansions to explore, it’s practically impossible to stand out, so the task is not to turn everything upside down chasing new horizons, but rather go for a truly immersive experience. The Crimson Manor is vast, absolutely gorgeous, beautifully lit, and lets you slowly peruse locations picking up and marveling at the things from the times long gone (most of the photos have time stamps of late 1800s). You can explore at your own pace, seeing as little or as much as you want. With sound effects (along with some unobtrusive tracks, and a few bits of classical music you find as part of the tasks) and snippets of potentially menacing story, it’s a good time all around, and made going from puzzle to puzzle truly satisfying. Speaking of the devil. Puzzles here are largely logical, have a solid thread going between them (so you are almost never at a loss of what to do), fit well within the world of the manor, quite fun and not all that challenging. The game does have a strange love for a type of puzzle where you must click several things in particular order to open something (I’ve come across at least four variations of that one), but overall – it’s the best balance of ā€œnot-too-hardā€ and ā€œooh-I-want-to-see-what’s-nextā€ parts. You won’t get bored with a variety of click-y lock mechanisms and codes that you’d need a special device to get a glimpse of, but you also won’t break your brain thinking over something for days. Depends on what you’re after. I’ve been away from playing games for quite a while, so I enjoyed this well-paced journey very much. ā€œThe Inheritance of Crimson Manorā€ surprisingly ended up being quite a little gem of an exploration puzzler. ā€œSurprisinglyā€ because the game isn’t breaking any molds as far as the story, the setting, or even the puzzles are concerned. And yet, whatever predictable path it takes, it does it well. It has detailed, lovely location to explore, moody atmosphere with a Gothic flair you can take in at your own pace, addicting (due to the not-too-hard/not-too-easy combo) puzzle component and a solid dose of immersion that even falling through the map (yup, happened to me) didn’t really ruin. If you know what exactly it is you want from puzzle games – this one should be relatively easy to pass up or pick up. It’s no Myst, that’s for sure, but it is an entertaining experience (although, turns out inheritance is a quite a hustle to deal with after all. Hundreds of locks and all…), so if it sounds up your alley – let yourself in. Just don’t forget the doorknob.

Despite a few glitches and the trouble navigating this was a great game. Very satisfying and the end was grand I may go back and do the alternate at some point. It was a loooong game which is ok and the puzzles were different yet not too hard
