Tianding was a short but great experience, and it did things differently enough from anything I've ever played to just be a unique and special game. From the art style to the characters, to the gameplay, to the very unique historical setting, everything about it just gave great and unique vibes. The music, which alone was not anything special, felt perfect with the setting. The level designs and combat were fun, and the boss battles were the best part. Half of the bosses were actually pretty challenging, but I was surprised to find the final boss to be pretty simple and easy to beat. Overall this game is a great little pick up, especially if it's on sale. 9/10

A pretty good 2d beat em up game. The boss battles are enjoyable, but you almost wish there were more of them and the levels are fairly easy once you get access to a triple jump. The only slightly ennoying part are the side missions which can require to walk around the city quite a bit. At least the fast transport system is decent.

Loved this this game in its entirety. From what started as a light adventure to a more serious tone in the end, I hope they continue it in a sequel. The art style really shines through its motion comic like cutscenes. The combat is pretty fluid with variety of weapons you can steal from the enemies you fight. the platforming is a pretty solid challenge, nothing too hard after you get the hang of all your abilities you unlock.

I really liked the comic-book style cutscenes, along with the 'theater' narrator at the beginning of chapters. It went well with the Taiwan early 1900s aesthetic and colour palette. The city feels atmospheric and manages to be immersive in its 2D presentation. The game is short and manages to keep things tight, not much felt wasted or filler. The combat is fun and can feel rewarding, pay attention to it and it will reward you. You can kick bullets! Some of the boss fights were tough but after a few tries were manageable. The music goes well with the atmosphere and fights, and was overall enjoyable, even the one that plays at the credits.
