I don't even know how I stumbled upon this gem of a game, either I was watching an older MoistCritical video or I just randomly came across it and thought to myself that it looks super similar to Agent 64: Spies Never Die, which should be coming out soon. Honestly, I have no idea, but one thing's for sure: for the €0.89 I bought it for, it's totally worth it. There are tons of funny situations, references, and jokes that had me pissing myself laughing, along with cool destruction mechanics and hilarious NPC reactions when you shoot them. On top of that, the game has a great cartoonish design, even if a bit faded and plenty of locations you visit throughout the campaign. USA, Jamaica, Switzerland... it was beautiful. You get a solid selection of weapons, from the basic pistol to shotguns, SMGs, snipers, and revolvers. But you'll mostly end up using the pistol, shotgun, and SMG, with the revolver popping up from time to time. What you won't see much of is the sniper or the grenade launcher, because the sniper forces you to slow down while enemies shoot fast and hit like a truck, and the grenade launcher is inaccurate (plus grenades in this game have a massive explosion radius). As for the world and the story surrounding Agent 7, it's set up in a way that feels like it could easily be a show on Minimax, which honestly doesn't sound like a bad idea for this game. Overall, I'm really happy with the game, even though it got pretty tough in some parts (especially towards the end). The one thing that bummed me out was the lack of manual saves. You can only save through checkpoints during missions, which reminded me of how FPS games like Turok which even had 3D platforming elements used to handle things like that.
Overall i quite enjoyed the game, although it is sometimes frustrating if you go for 100% achievements walkthrough, since to get quite a few medals you only have few seconds before they disappear, forcing you to restart if you want to get them. Only other complaint is that few times graphics can blend all together, like in the icy mountain level, where you forced through a platforming section, but some ledges are not very noticeable among the overall snow area and the ground is slippery, which may cause you to fall to your death a few times, Otherwise everything in the game is good, shooting feels satisfying, getting three stars at each level feels engaging and the story, while not a peak comedy, passable enough. Recommend this little game for all shooter enjoyers.
Honestly the best 89p I ever spent in my life! If you grew up watching bond films like me and love old school style games you are in for a real treat. So much effort has gone into this from the cutscenes to the voice acting. Yes it plays basic but its supposed to. They nailed the bond tropes and its hilarious. Plays amazing on my steam deck. The controls are spot on. defiantly recommended
