I wanted to clear some things up in case some reviews are swaying you in a negative direction. I am chronically ill and that means I have brain fog and get frustrated with games that aren't very clear or intuitive. While there are some things about this game that aren't completely obvious, this game isn't like that. It doesn't hold your hand, but it has plenty of tutorials and if you're paying attention, you'll know what to do. This game sort of starts off like the Stardew Valley types of games, but picking weeds doesn't use your energy, which is nice! The cut scenes are a bit screwed up and it does not sound like the developer is a native English speaker with some oddly written dialogue and quite a few typos. If you can get past that, this game is fantastic for exploration, crafting, fetch quests, etc. There are signs in areas telling you what plant life can be found there. You can go check back on tutorials at any time in the options, and it even tells you what you can do to level up your knowledge about your items. Some of the scenery in this game is *chef's kiss*. So relaxing and calming. Find a waterfall and chill for a second if you have some time at night or stand quietly by the fireflies. Remember fireflies?! One of the downsides with the quests is figuring out how to find the people you need to talk to. When you "follow" a quest, I expected them to show up on the map, but they don't. If that could be implemented into the game, that would be great. I've been having fun with it, even with limited energy, and I definitely recommend this game if you're ok with a lack of polish and you're into exploratory Stardew Valley types of games.

This game is very charming. There are a lot of reviews that complain about the lack of clarity on what to do, but I found that to be part of the fun! You play as an apprentice witch that is stranded on a strange island. You must learn the island inside and out either on foot, by Tzoru, or eventually (my favorite mode of transport) by broom! This game is about adventure so please don't be fooled by shallow reviews! Come to Fern Island and learn what it takes to be an apprentice witch!!

Yes it needs work. However, the amount of work that went into this game can be seen. From the environmental details to my favorite broom riding mechanics. And because of the little details I give this a recommendations. However, again, it needs polishing. A lot of quests I had to google because it was hard to figure out where to go next or what to do next in some cases. And some quests require waiting a couple of seasons. Also, if you get motion sickness...good luck! I could only play a little at a time before I had to stop. And the thing that irritated me the most about this game was that some items were locked behind getting to know the townsfolk who were pretty boring. The dialogue was so repetitive I wondered why the devs make us get to know them if they don't have much to say beyond the same repeated sentences. Sometime there is new dialogue, but it is so few...heartbreaking. Regardless, I did like the exploration in this game especially after I got my broom. It takes time...lots of time, but once I got it, VROOOM!!

Loved this game! It's very exploration heavy, and I appreciated the diversity of plants that you can harvest. The house and farm decorating is fun. The outfits are fun. The puzzles are fun. Two cons would be that I found the socialization aspect to be lacking. If you're looking for a dating or friendship sim, this isn't it. Also, there were times in my play-through where I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to be doing. I spent 95% of my game not realizing that you're supposed to set up the crystal ball in your house like a furniture item to unlock more quests. The quest panel consists of "main story", "side story", and friendship quests, but certain friendship and side quests are required to proceed with main quests, and you have no idea which ones are important. You kind of have to do everything to make any process in the story line. Quests get held up because you need specific recipes to proceed, but there's zero guidance on where you might acquire said recipe. Might be in the middle of nowhere in a magical chest. Might be a puzzle reward. Might be a relationship reward. Without using the wiki, I had no idea how to progress in the story at certain points. That was endearing at first. I appreciate the challenge, but it became less and less endearing as time went on.

Even with all it's bugs, quirks and never being updated... I love it. Not sure why the developers gave up on it but it is a no pressure, long haul, cozy game. It does have issues, and it lacks a ton of directions. ( does have discord and wiki page) I really wish they would pick this game back up, there is just SO much to do and keep busy. If farming, crafting, ingredient hording, exploring, picking flowers, fishing, animal breeding, house decorating is your thing, when it is on sale, grab it.
