A city-building game that's super beginner-friendly! The gameplay is easy to understand and won't leave your head spinning. The biggest plus is the community. There are tons of cool community-made plugins that make your city feel diverse and alive. Highly recommended!

TheoTown is a great city-building game that gives players a lot of freedom to create and simulate cities or even larger regions exactly how they want. The ability to use plugins adds even more possibilities. However, there are a few issues that make the creative process harder than it needs to be. I hope these suggestions can help improve the game in future updates. 1. No Control Over Building Density in Zones Right now, players cannot set a zone to allow only Low (T), Medium (TT), or High (TTT) buildings. Because of this, cities often end up filled mostly with the same high(TTT) buildings in the late game, which makes them look repetitive and less interesting. Some players get around this by marking lots as “untouchable” or placing buildings by hand, but these methods take extra time and feel like workarounds rather than real solutions. Adding an option to control which building types can appear in a zone would make city planning much more flexible and realistic. 2. Missing Tile or Plot Size Information When browsing the build menu, there is no clear information about how many tiles (or the plot size) each building or object takes up. Players have to guess from the small thumbnail or click into the preview just to check the size. This slows things down and gets tiring quickly, especially when designing large areas. Showing the tile dimensions directly in the menu, either on the icon or in the info panel would save a lot of time and make planning easier. 3. Search Feature Is Hard to Use The search feature for plugins or all items only looks at the name or description of individual items. It does not let you search by plugin name, nor does it let you filter items by type such as residential, commercial, industrial, parks, or sports. With just a few plugins, this isn’t a big problem. But since TheoTown’s strength comes from its wide variety of community-made content, finding the right asset becomes difficult as your collection grows. Adding categories or filters (like “show only commercial buildings”) would make the plugin system much more user-friendly. Small Issue: When playing on very large maps like “Even Bigger 105km,” disasters sometimes happen far away from your main city. These events leave behind pollution or debris in remote areas. Normally, that wouldn’t be a problem but the game keeps showing NPC messages asking you to clean it up. Since those areas are often empty or unreachable, these alerts feel unnecessary and distracting. It would be better if cleanup requests only appeared for areas near active development.
