Tomb Raider 3 Review (English) Overall Rating: 8.9/10 Gameplay: 8.5/10 Graphics: 2/10 Story: 4/10 Music and Sound: 10/10 Personal enjoyment: 6/10 With Tomb Raider III Lara Croft takes us on yet another thrilling adventure! ...Is what I would say if the game didn't unfairly punish me every 5 seconds. I have to be honest and say that I think this is the weakest of the PS1 era of Tomb Raider, while there's still a lot of of new ideas and attempts at innovation like the previous game, I don't think this was as successful at it as opposed to Tomb Raider II, there's also one major flaw with this game which we'll get into by the end. Tomb Raider III introduces a more non-linear level progression, giving players the freedom to choose the order in which they tackled the game's different regions, and some levels even feature multiple routes to get through them. The gameplay was more challenging, with tougher puzzles, more intricate platforming sections, and smarter enemy AI. There's also new moves and abilities, such as the ability to sprint and crouch, and the ability to climb and hang from monkey bars. The game also featured more diverse environments and the return of vehicles, including new ones such as the quad bike and kayak. Sadly this game doesn't improve as much from the previous game as opposed to Tomb Raider II. Whereas Tomb Raider II was clearly trying to go big and improve itself over the original as much as it could, Tomb Raider III feels like it added a couple new features in just to try to please critics and fans so the formula doesn't get stale. I also have to mention that this game is unfairly difficult, I mentioned this in the previous game as well but I feel like the problem is bigger here. Tomb Raider III's puzzles feel cumbersome, long, and annoying, there's so many traps and threats that it made me rage quit the original and even the REMASTER on my replay on multiple occasions. It almost makes it feel like you have to use a guide in order to beat this game, and that's never a good thing when it comes to game design, I should never have to resort to looking up guides for games, but with Tomb Raider III it feels like you HAVE to use a guide if you wanna beat it and don't wanna suffer for hours on end. Considering how negative I was with my review, you might be wondering why I'm giving it a "Recommended" instead of a "Not Recommended" and that's largely just because while I think that the game is flawed in many aspects, hardcore fans of the franchise will probably like it, and I'm sure that a lot of people who enjoyed the previous two games will have a lot of fun with this game as well, sadly it wasn't for me, but if you liked the previous two games then you might like this one too, just sadly I can't recommend it as much as the previous two entries. ... Tomb Raider III Kritika (Hungarian/Magyar) Összesített értékelés: 8.9/10 Játékmenet: 8.5/10 Grafika: 2/10 Történet: 4/10 Zene és hang: 10/10 Személyes élvezet: 6/10 A Tomb Raider III-mal Lara Croft újabb izgalmas kalandra visz minket!

Tomb Raider 3 has a plot that is the same as the first Tomb Raider, it lacked originality! BUT... What was different? Lara's voice, weapon sounds and graphics improved by about 10% compared to its predecessors, but the graphics engine is still the same! The only thing I found really ridiculous was putting the monkey in the game to give Lara the freedom to shoot and kill the monkey! Anyway, Tomb Raider 3 Adventures of Lara Croft is an excellent game!

I remember not getting far with this game when I was little. As an adult, I'm loving just working it out and doing my best not to look at any guides. So nice to play a game that does not hold your hand and thoroughly enjoying the challenge.

Let’s get one thing straight, if you though any of the first two games were too frustrating or hard, this isn’t for you. Just like Tomb Raider 2, this one expects you to have played the previous games in the series. But even that won’t save you from death. Tomb Raider 3 makes sure you know your place from the start as it spits in your face while you’re lying on the floor crying. The first level starts with you sliding down on some mud (I guess?). There’s a nice platform on the downhill that you can see an item on. And of course, as any sane person would do, you slide down to it and grab it. As you pick it up, a boulder falls on you and you’re dead. Literally the first item you see, is a trap. And don’t you worry. This keeps up the entire game. One positive thing about this is that for the rest of the game, whenever you see an item that’s just out in the open, you get scared. You start to triple-checking every wall, corner, floor, ceiling and might even start looking behind you in real life to make sure there’s no trap there before you pick it up. As this also just happens to be the longest Tomb Raider game (out of the original 6 by Core Design), you have plenty of time to get used to the game over-screen. But if you can get through that, you will have a really good time with this game. There’s a lot of interesting locations, the movement is better than before and the non-cheap difficulty is really fair. But just like with Tomb Raider 2, it’s not the easiest to get this to run on modern hardware. There are a lot of resources online to help you, but I would still recommend getting the remastered version instead unless you really want the original PC version with 0 changes.

I would compare playing Tomb Raider 3 to being repeatedly smacked in the balls. Great if you're into that sort of thing (I'm not judging!) but for the vast majority - it's fucking painful. Also, Lara Croft is a straight up homicidal maniac. Literally smiles at a guy, shoots him in the face and nick's his chopper. Jeez.
