A simple game that makes you question every choice you make. Mixed reviews seems like they hate being challenged on any decision they make, which is pretty concerning. Narrator feels like a pretty good impersonation of an inside voice you should have - someone that weighs pros and cons on everything. The voice actor for the narrator was also the perfect choice, I loved her performance in this, truly. Also, you not having control and thrown into situations to make morally ambiguous choices feels like the whole point of the game. Very good look and intro into morality and philosophy (included reading list is a very nice addition). Although all of it are just strawman arguments, I feel like you could pick out things here and there to apply the logic into how daily life is approached. Even if your choices and morals aren't changed by this game, it lets you think about it which I do feel is very important. The narrator also does expand on some of the questions to let you think past morality and of the logistics of it all (how to recall the cars?) which I really loved and makes it more realistic. I do love the flow and story of the game - by turning the simple question of the trolley on ourselves later on. Many parts of it made me whole my breath and think before choosing an option. The presentation is perfect, it's a simple "game" where all you do is pick choices, and yet there are stylistic and artistic choices later on that makes it feel unique and special, and thus more like a game. If you like a media that plays around on the scales of morality and justice and makes you think where you lie on it, this is for you. The narrator is snarky and quite a bitch. That's the point. I wouldn't know how to rate this game, but I do have to say it's a game that has earned its place in my brain, and rightfully so. I do hope people engage with it and try it, although it may be short. I look forward to any new projects from this dev, keep up the good work.

Horrible game, love it. 10/10. Gave me a headache. Bought it on a big sale, I'd say it's worth the money. While the game is mostly a satire, it actually makes you think.

More or less, this reviews a slew of ethical conundrums, and you get to decide how you will act. A recommendation I'd have for the devs, is to address the common problems people have with the trolly problem (and similar). For example, nothing is certain. Any action you take only has a probability of arriving at the desired outcome. Ethical problems become much more interesting when probability is taken into account (for example, would you take a 20% chance of killing someone, if it also had an 80% chance of saving five others? The overall premise of the game seems to be: - In such situations, you're going to be traumatized no matter what you do. - In a real-life scenario, you know what path corporations are going to take, and if you work for them, you're either going to get fired, thrown under the bus, AND the company will still take the same path... or your going to be complicit. Capitalism doesn't work in the public's best interest. Questioning the status quo in society is one of the great benefits of philosophy. If this game causes people to question themselves and the world at large, it's done its job. If it gets you into reading and pondering philosophy, even better. At a cost less than any of the books on its reading list (even used), it's worth the price.

TLDR; VERY GOOD GAME - incredibly culturally and politically relevant. The reviews say mixed but I genuinely think a lot of people just don't like the feeling of being judged, and this game masterfully judges you as you choose, whether or not you're picking the "most morally correct option." The whole idea of the trolley problem is that there is none- which Trolley Problem Inc hones in on! I applaud the writer and narrator for really hitting it home in how awful the options are by berating you for daring to choose at all. Really well delivered on their parts. Unfortunately this game is a tinge "single play only," but absolutely one I'd watch friends play over again to watch them become emotionally devastated. Definitely would recommend! (PS: I saved the dog)
