Even though this is a game. It's still teaches the basic's of being a truck driver. it would be nice that everyone must take this course. I know that it would make a lot of folks not want to play it. But it would seperate the men from the children. A lot of folks playing this game are kids younger than 16, This a great tool to learn some responsibility.

Trucks & Trailers is a focused driving simulation developed and published by SCS Software that deliberately narrows its scope to one of the most demanding aspects of trucking: precise control of a truck and trailer in confined spaces. Unlike the studio’s more expansive transport simulators, this title strips away long-distance driving, economic systems, and open-road exploration in favor of a concentrated set of skill-based challenges. The result is a game that feels less like a traditional simulator and more like a technical training ground, designed to test patience, spatial awareness, and mastery of vehicle articulation. The structure of the game is built around a series of short, self-contained challenges, each presenting a specific maneuvering task such as reversing into tight loading bays, navigating obstacle-filled yards, or parking a trailer within strict boundaries. These scenarios may look simple at first glance, but they quickly reveal how unforgiving trailer physics can be when mistakes compound. Small errors in steering angle or speed often require full resets, encouraging players to slow down, plan ahead, and think several moves in advance. The medal system, which rewards precision and speed, adds an extra layer of pressure that pushes players to refine their technique rather than merely scrape through each task. One of the game’s strengths lies in how it introduces complexity gradually. Early challenges serve as practical tutorials, allowing players to get comfortable with throttle control, steering sensitivity, and the behavior of the trailer as it pivots behind the cab. As the game progresses, camera restrictions and tighter environments force greater reliance on mirrors and first-person viewpoints, closely mirroring the real-world difficulty of reversing a trailer without external aids. This escalation feels deliberate and educational, transforming what could have been a simple puzzle game into a genuine test of driving discipline. Controls are straightforward and familiar to anyone with experience in truck simulators, but the difficulty doesn’t come from complexity in inputs—it comes from the physics themselves. Trailer sway, turning radius, and momentum are modeled in a way that feels grounded and consistent, rewarding careful, deliberate driving. There is a tangible sense of satisfaction in successfully lining up a trailer after several failed attempts, and the game thrives on this moment-to-moment tension between control and chaos. Visually, Trucks & Trailers reflects its era and modest ambitions. Environments are functional rather than scenic, serving primarily as backdrops for challenges rather than destinations in their own right. Truck models are recognizable and serviceable, but they lack the detail and polish seen in later SCS titles. This simplicity, however, rarely detracts from the experience, as the player’s attention is almost always fixed on mirrors, angles, and spatial positioning rather than visual spectacle. The game’s pacing makes it especially suitable for short play sessions. Individual challenges can often be attempted in just a few minutes, making it easy to jump in, tackle a task, and step away. At the same time, this structure limits long-term variety. Once all challenges are completed and medals earned, there is little incentive to return unless the player enjoys self-imposed perfectionism. This reinforces the idea that Trucks & Trailers is best viewed as a focused skill exercise rather than a long-term simulation hobby. Community reception reflects this narrow focus. Players who approach the game expecting a compact, demanding test of truck handling tend to appreciate its clarity of purpose, while those hoping for a broader trucking experience often find it lacking. In many ways, it feels like a conceptual bridge between arcade-style driving challenges and the more expansive simulators SCS would later perfect, showcasing the studio’s deep understanding of vehicle physics even within a constrained format. Ultimately, Trucks & Trailers succeeds by committing fully to its premise. It does not try to be everything at once; instead, it isolates one of the most difficult elements of trucking and builds an entire experience around mastering it. For players who enjoy technical challenges, precision driving, and the quiet satisfaction of incremental improvement, it offers a uniquely rewarding experience. While its scope is limited, its focus is sharp, making it a memorable and instructive entry in SCS Software’s catalog rather than a mere curiosity. Rating: 6/10

A challenging game about parking trucks. I originally got this game to practice my backing skills for my driving test. I'd say this game does help with that, but it's not completely realistic. The trailers move as if they are much shorter. In general it feels much faster like moving toys, rather than huge semi-trucks. With that being said, if you can complete the first 7 tasks in this game, it should help you with backing a real trailer. After doing the basic challenges, you start parking in more "realistic" settings. The challenges are pretty crazy, and unlike anything I ever encountered in real life. For example, I've never had to park two trailers in a yard while dodging barrels and crates in under a minute, but in this game I did. These can be very challenging. It was originally too hard for me, even on easy mode. I didn't even get all the bronzes on easy. After being a truck driver for over 2 years, I decided to come back to this game. I got all golds on pro difficulty. I had a blast. One thing I wish they would change: on pro mode you can't change the camera angle. You can look around from inside your truck and check your mirrors, but that's it. A real professional, if they aren't sure, will get out and look (G.O.A.L). There's no way a person would do those crazy parking jobs without getting out to check, so they should let you change the camera angle to look around the outside of your vehicle. At least you can do it on easy mode.
