'Unlock The King' is an originally designed puzzle game inspired by chess. It features a unique concept with an electronic board, lightning fast piece movements, trigger buttons, movable parts, and an original soundtrack designed to help you focus and relax while solving 100 levels and earning 10 Steam achievements. Although the game has 100 levels, it took me only about 50 minutes to complete and unlock all achievements. Thanks to its straightforward gameplay, single ending, automatic save system, and lack of time limits, the game offers an accessible and enjoyable puzzle experience. I would rate the difficulty around 3 out of 10 for players familiar with chess piece movements, or closer to 8 out of 10 for those who are not. 'Unlock The King' is a refreshing and cleverly designed puzzle game that brings a new dimension to the chessboard. Even if you have never played chess, this game is highly approachable and rewarding. The mechanics are easy to understand but offer enough complexity to keep even experienced puzzle players engaged. With 100 carefully designed levels, the game gradually increases in difficulty, encouraging strategic thinking and planning. The innovative elements such as the electronic board, fast moving pieces, and interactive triggers give the game a modern and dynamic feel. The original soundtrack is also a highlight, creating a calm and focused environment that enhances the overall experience. I purchased this game during a sale for 0.54€, but I think the regular price of 0.99€ is fair considering the content offered. If you are interested, it may still be worth waiting for a discount if you want to save a bit of money. In conclusion, whether you are a chess enthusiast or someone who simply enjoys a good puzzle, 'Unlock The King' is a great choice. It is highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun and satisfying puzzle challenge. It's a yes for the game itself. I like the concept, it looks good and the sound is nice. BUT: To me, it was too easy. Just a handful of levels needed a little bit of effort. Also, it's not really 100 levels. Often like when a new trigger tile is introduced, there are two or three levels which only need one or two steps or so to complete, mostly even unavoidable to miss. This occurred even at levels 91-92 for example. People having reached those levels will definitely understand by themselves what needs to go on that tile. I found that even a bit insulting. But as I said, I like the game itself and I played till the very last level so I can't say no. (played on the Deck)

Quick puzzle game. Last level was a bummer. I wish it would've incorporated all of the puzzle mechanics. It was one of the easiest in the game.

Probably one of the better unorthodox chess puzzle games I've played lately! The logic to the solutions is sound, it's easy to see where to move you your pieces (unlike the sequel I just tried to play), and the pieces are properly clickable (unlike Knight Swap by the same developer). My main gripe with the game comes with a mechanic that comes in play much later in the game, rendering a lot of puzzles much easier in the second half than in the first half, which is probably the opposite of what a puzzle game with levels tries to achieve.
