Love the attacking, blocking, dashing and dodging mechanics, especially on nightmare difficulty as it's not only fun but can be a workout. It's a shame that the only major update was for 2 handed weapons and not a new area, new enemies or co-op mode, but I understand Schell Games is working on other projects. Still a fun roguelite hack and slash in 2026.

By far the best VR swordfighting game. Most swordfighting games in VR force you to guess where to block based off of an animation. This leads to enemies that are slow, sluggish and obvious, as well as attacks that look like they should have been blocked, but they weren't. They do this because it's "More immersive" To fix this issue, Until You Fall adds block and dodge indicators. These indicators tell you exactly how to defend from incoming attacks. This removes all the guess work and allows the game to have much more intricate animations for enemies, as well as much faster combat. This actually makes the game more immersive and fun to play, as all encounters are based on skill rather than guessing. Unfortunatly, Schell released Project Freefall with a lot of microtransactions and AI generated content, however, Until You Fall has absoloutely 0 gen AI and 0 microtransactions. And thankfully, as far as the public knows, they have abandoned Until You Fall since it wasn't as sucsessful as they wanted it to be. This means that they refuse to update it, which means they have no chance to ruin it. Though I guess I should never say never! (Never say never is the response Schell gives any time they get asked about Until You Fall's future for those who don't know) This game isn't without it's flaws, however. Some attacks are a bit janky and hard to avoid being hit by. The worst of these are the Spellweavers, who use projectiles, but so long as you swing both weapons at the projectiles one after the other, you shouldn't take damage. This is true for all projectile attacks. Some attacks also demand you dodge a certain way, then dodge further in the same direction for the next attack. These attacks can put you in a situation where the only way to not get hit is to get away from the enemy, but they are still dodgable if you know what you're doing and don't mess up the first doge. However, this is an issue only present in monk runs as far as I know, which are extra challenges. This is the end of my review, so if you just wanted a review, then you can stop reading here. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy Until You Fall! Now, onto the extra stuff. The Until You Fall community has plenty of community challenges. Most of these challenges have no in game reward, but some of them do have community rewards. There's a challenge for everyone, so don't worry about your skill level if you want to give one a go! The most well known challenge by far is Monk, but what is less well known is that there are 4 layers to this challenge, each harder than the last. The layers are as follows: Monks of Rokar (MoR) | Complete a run with the Knight Blooded Crest and the Spellswords Charm Monk of Rokar Elite (MoRE) | Complete a Nightmare run with the Knight Blooded Crest and the Spellswords Charm Monk of Rokar Grand Ultimate Elite (MoRGUE) | Complete a run with the Knight Blooded Crest at level 1 and the Spellswords Charm at level 1 on any difficulty Insanity Manifested: Monk of Rokar: True Acolyte Legion (IMMoRTAL) | Complete a run with the Knight Blooded Crest at level 1 and the Spellswords Charm at level 1 on Nightmare There are also the Knight's of Rokar. A holliday celebration where 12 knights from Rokar's history are selected to be celebrated througout December. Each knight has their own challenge and story, requiering you to use specific weapons on specific difficulties to beat their challenge. They also accept fan made stories if they like them. I myself am the one who created Marcellinus, Slayer of the void. This is where the bulk of the challenges are, and you can find them all on the Fandom wiki (Unfortunatly we don't have the means to leave Fandom) Finally, there's the Rokari weapon grand mastery challenge. A true test of game knowlage, demanding you beat the game with all 210 possible weapon combinations with proof for each. This challenge is extreme and not for the faint of heart. There are very few people who have beaten this challenge. The community has made an easy to use spreadsheet to track progress for this one. These are all the extras I can think of, but there's nothing stopping you from making your own challenges! So get creative and share them with the community!

The only problem with this game is there isn't a second one or additional DLC to keep pushing the replayability! Cmon Schell games this is literrally your best game. UNTIL YOU FALL 2?

Ideal to sweat a little while having fun at the same time, its combat system is not based on clumsy physics like other more immersive games, it is a very arcade game and it feels good. Quite hard and addictive. I highly recommend a system to keep you stucked in one place and avoid breaking something on your room :P
