About 10 hours for 100% of game and all achievements. But it's a good 10 hours, and the game makes you play as a horse sometimes, so 10/10.

WHAT THE GOLF? is not exactly the golf game one would expect. It is instead a bag full of absurdist mini levels that often revolve around a hilarious pun. For example, a level called β€˜Hole in 1’ would have you toss a literal hole from the ground into a gape that is shaped like the Hindu-Arabic numeral 1. My personal favourite levels are the ones based on SUPERHOT. Fully functional bullet-time with the pun being SUPERPUTT. Levels are also based on many other games such as Portal, Metal Gear, Mario, Guitar Hero, Flappy Bird & Angry Birds. The insane amount of variety in humour and gameplay is commendable and the game still has more episodes on the way. There are plenty of challenge levels that escalate well towards mastery and completion. Secrets are always well-hidden; never too obscure to access. This game will constantly churn a chuckle out of you. If you are tired of games that make you sweat, try this one that makes you laugh!

It's a fun time killer that isn't too intense and just for fun. Doesn't take itself seriously which is a breath of fresh air

With What the Golf? I've finally found the perfect Steam Deck game, the perfect time killer, and ultimately it's the most fun I've had with a "nothing" game. By flipping the sport on its head, Triband has created the best kinda-sorta-not golf(ish) game I could ever hope for. Trading the long, meticulous bore of real golf for bite-sized minigame-type levels based on simple hooks and references to past decade indie and AAA greats like Superhot, Donut County, Portal and Katamari Damacy . This game is a lot of things, fun is one of them, but it also feels very much like a love letter to the wild and wacky world of video games. The only gameplay constant is your aim and power bar necessary to hit your "ball", but after that, this game stops resembling anything that its namesake might suggest. I really had fun with this one, and I'll keep coming back for whatever the hell this is (especially when its unantiquated sequel drops on September 9th!). Drop your phone and your endless doom-scrolling and let golf save you, trust me on this one. 7/10. (Played exclusively on Steam Deck OLED at 800p90fps with 6-8w total power draw and 7-8hrs of battery life.)
