Ghosts asking for items This is a simple story driven girl with very light horror vibes which at least in my book would fall into family friendly horror category. You play as a girl who has an entity like a soul who can leave her body. And control both – whenever you want to play as entity you press a button and do that. It helps solving puzzles like squeezing through tight places to flick a switch and so on. The gameplay is quite basic – side scrolling adventure game where you go to place and meet ghosts. But talking to the ghost the story start unveiling itself and most of the time you're just fetching items for the ghosts to advance the story. There are no tough puzzles, every puzzle is very basic with couple of exception but even those would qualify as easy ones, although at least they fall into puzzle category while other are very obvious and I wouldn't consider them puzzles at all. And that's not a complaint, I see it as a story driven game and I don't want to be stuck for two hours on a puzzle so that forget the story. Just a heads up for people in case you're expecting challenging puzzles. The most annoying and time consuming part is going back and forth. And since it's a side scroller you get easily disoriented which door leads down, up, inside, outside. It's just annoying. The graphics are quite nice, nothing special but it looks cute. The whole game in general is kinda cute and a bit dark which is my favorite combination. It could be better though. Since i have an ultrawide display I encountered one visual glitch which was extremely annoying. There was lots of flickering at one point of the game and then almost constant flickering at the very end of the game. And since you can't adjust the resolution, you can't fix it. Sound design is average. Music is nice but it become repetitive really quickly and there's no voice overs. Yes it's an indie game but a short one. Hiring some students for thousand bucks would've been better than nothing. Overall a decent game to get on sale. It's not perfect, just nice and a bit dark story. Worth it for adventure/story driven game fans. Pros [*]Good story [*]Lovely atmosphere [*]Decent art Cons [*]Not voiced [*]Boring music [*]Confusing to navigate [*]No graphics options [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/32930811-Kosmos%27s-Cosmic-reviews/?appid=704030] Follow my curator page for more [url=https://www.twitch.tv/crazykosmikbunny] My Twitch

pros ✅ a well-written and intriguing paranormal ghost story about a teenager who searches for her missing father and, in her quest, encounters and helps many ghosts, all of whom have tragic pasts. You can learn these ghosts' rich, tragic stories via numerous intricately written notes ✅ spooky environments and atmosphere ✅ mechanic to swap between human and spirit forms to solve quests so cool ✅ nice looking graphics and character models ✅ well integrated and fun to solve puzzles ✅ the apt background music perfectly fits the game's general atmosphere ✅ there are steam achievements and cards cons ❌maze-like and repetitive level design can be tedious and distracting after a while ❌there is no map with shortcuts, which causes too much backtracking and confusion about where or which way to go. ❌there are no voiceovers ❌It's not a lengthy game Overall, this is an enjoyable puzzle game with an intriguing story.

For a ten year old game I thought this was pretty good and I chose to play this for some spooky vibes during Halloween. The art is excellent. It's not a very long game and the puzzles aren't too difficult. I enjoyed piecing together the story via scrolls gathered throughout the game, the main character's diary, and talking to ghosts through Elena's spirit form. The story centers around a huge mansion that is owned by a man named Wortham Willows who becomes the mayor of the town. Wortham is the big bad and commits a bunch of atrocities to found the town. Elena navigates this story and the mansion to find her missing father.

Apparently I bought this game on November 23, 2018, alongside Monster Prom. Given that it's been nearly 6 years, I can't honestly say that I remember why I bought it, but presumably because it looked neat and was heavily discounted. (On that note, at time of writing it's on sale for a measly €0.95.) Also, I'm pretty sure I've had it installed since July of 2020, and finally took the time to give it a spin after over 4 years because I looked over what unplayed, installed games felt seasonal for a Halloween Month theme. So here we are. It's no masterpiece, of course, but it feels like it's worth it if you want to play what's essentially a pretty cute (but occasionally gruesome) ghost story adventure game about a girl trying to find her dad in a cursed mansion haunted by the sins of an old colonizer who hurt everyone around him. The sprite work, at least for the protagonist, is really pretty and charming but the animated FMV sequences betray the game's obviously limited budget. It's up to you to decide at what price point you think a 3.5-ish hour story (including reading log entries) is worth it. I hear that dollar per hour value is really important to some folks. Bonus points to the developers for letting you load your finished save in a state where you can easily roam around and pick up whatever collectibles or achievements you're missing.

Well... It took me 8 years... But I finally beat this game! Mind you, it took me a few hours. This game is... I probably would've been more impressed with it a few years back. Eh. It's not really bad, just... Well for one it was never optimized properly for PCs. So your computers will overheat or attempt to fly around the room. My PC really hates it when I read the Diary as well... Which is strange... But okay. Two... I feel there should've been more to the story. It just feels alright enough to pass time? Three... It's a lot to go back and forth and there is also a maze. And when you operate without a map... Most people will go insane trying to figure stuff out. Also that dog and... THOSE ARE NOT SPIDERS! THOSE ARE FACE HUGGERS! I KNEW IT!!! A mutation of face huggers?! I don't see anything overly impressive about the game, but it isn't super rage inducing either... Cousin of "Boo" is adorable and some sort of entertainment was had... Just felt really, super bad for my PC!!! >.> Thanks...! :>
