General Experience Winter Memories is such a well made sequel; The continued story and events from the first game transition smoothly, and just about every detail of the game is improved upon. Story-wise, it's a natural continuation from Summer Memories. The game specifies you should play the first one, continuing the story and having flashbacks. Not needed, but the first game was really good. The action point system got changed into a minute-like scale, giving you more to do in your day. The world is more alive and you have far better interactions with the characters around you. The Menko stuff is also more detailed, which was honestly one of the best minigames from the first game. Sequel Improvements Just about everything was improved upon in Winter Memories. Navigating through the world has more depth, almost doubling the locations you had available previously. The general artwork looks cleaner and the pixel artwork have more fleshed out animations. The diary remembers all events that happened that day; Previously you could only unlock one page per day and it required you to play sub-optimally, but the new system tracks everything. Heroine progression is more detailed, making it easier to plan out your days. Chatting also has more depth to it, not only is it used for good affection gains, but the heroines have a lot to discuss with you that add to their character. Adult Content There is a free patch from the Kagura game's website, which was extremely easy to install. There is quite a bit of improvement from the first game. The content is split into two categories: the overworld which uses sprite animations, and story events that every main heroine has. There are 10 heroines this time around, each having 4-5 story scenes. There is also the overworld, with 15 interactions this time around. The quality is way up, and is honestly serviceable on it's own. However, they also introduced an optional animated portrait to each of these. The content is generally vanilla, with the most stand out thing being watersports. When you beat the game, you unlock a memory mode which is like a mix of a gallery and free play. Complaints There are fewer days, but because of the time change you can actually do more each day so it's kind of a toss up. The only other issue is the camera collectables. Obviously optional, but if you want to fill it out they added a section for taking photos of random objects in the world with no real direction. Talking uses up a lot of time, surprisingly, which makes it harder to get dialog from characters. It's minor, but the new added detail is a welcome one. Replayability Similar to the first game, you can replay the game with a New Game+ mode to keep your stats and unlocks. The time is more generous and you have more guidance for events, making it much quicker to do everything there is in the game. Once you experience all the stories and potentially collect everything, there isn't much reason to go back other than to enjoy the story again. Extra Content At this time there is no DLC, but there could be since Summer Memories had an expansion. Achievements No Steam achievements, but they added a new in game achievement system that provides perks. You can also fill out your journal and camera for completion sake, similar to filling out the journal in Summer Memories. You can donate to the shrine to unlock in-game achievement requirements. Technical Issues No new issues. The game is scaled for a small window that looks rough when you use full screen. The UI navigation was improved upon, which was an issue in Summer Memories. Value Like Summer Memories, it runs for $20 base price. A lot of what was added to Summer Memories DLC has been integrated into Winter Memories, so you're getting more content at the base level. The full asking price is well worth it, especially if you played the previous one. On sale it has dropped to 20% off, but I recommend the Memories bundle for a better savings.

Just in case if you're playing this in 2025, you'll need to download the NSFW patch from the developer official website (it's free). Installing the patch is surprisingly very easy (they have a guide for the installation in their website too). After installing the patch, it's ready to fa- I mean play. Overall, they have almost every general fetishes (they may really have nh*ntai tag research) And also, this is one of the best narrative based h games, it let me to skip the story but I don't want to miss it because the story is adding the spiciness
