Reviewing (mostly) every game (or DLC) in my library, part 111: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ (8/10) Wolf Tails is a charming LGBT visual novel by Razzart Visual that tells the cozy, heartfelt story of living with two wolf-girls—Mirari, the gentle runaway, and Fuyu, the tough, pack-focused newcomer—in a snowy cabin. It combines warm slice-of-life moments, gentle romance, atmospheric visuals, and soft drama into a compact, emotional package. It’s perfect for fans of slow-burning relationships and nature-bound fantasy, with beautiful illustrations, a lovely soundtrack, and solid branching paths that give it replayability. Despite a fairly short length, it left a sweet lasting impression. Cozy, romantic, wolf-filled, this game was gone too soon. 💖 Pros: [*] Cozy, intimate setting. The remote cabin in a snowy wilderness feels lived-in and immersive. Whether you're thawing soup, sharing blankets by the fire, or stumbling through local wildlife, the atmosphere is snug and meaningful. [*] Heartfelt romance with two wolf-girls. The pairing of kind Mirari and brash Fuyu offers replayable romance paths. Both characters feel real. Mirari’s soft warmth and Fuyu’s fierce loyalty is really sweet! [*] High-quality art and soothing audio. Clean UI, CG artwork, and light animations are visually pleasing. The soundtrack complements the tone; it’s understated, not overpowering, which lets the snowy ambiance shine. [*] Replay-friendly with multiple endings. With two romance options and four different endings (plus extras), it invites multiple playthroughs. Scene branching keeps things fresh, and skip features help you explore without grinding. [*] Relatable characters. The wolf-girls’ personalities—Mirari’s gentle kindness and Fuyu’s guarded bravado—stand out. Their bond with you (or your protagonist) feels natural and genuine. 🐺 Cons: [*] It’s quite short. Clocking in at approximately 1-2 hours for a single playthrough, it’s flavorful but brief. Very, very cute and wholesome Visual Novel. But for some reason I thought that there'd be a route for both girl too, unfortunately there are only 2 separate routes. Atmosphere - is very nice and cozy. Art is a bit of generic, but the CGs are really cute and wholesome. Music - is unexpectedly good for such a short and lighthearted VN, but that's always a welcome surprise. Story - started really nice actually but it suddenly got rushed midway through. It really surprised me for the game just to suddenly wrap everything up and end, after spending so much time for the beginning part, and slowly getting close to the characters and their backstories. I really wish the game was at least 1 hour longer, and for latter half of the story to be a bit more developed and fleshed out. Characters - this is definitely the best part of the game. Both Mirari and Fuyu are so good and wholesome, with sad pasts. Even though it might be hard for some people to like Fuyu in the beginning, her route is very nice and endearing. I literally can't decide which route is better. The MC tho is not that great and is really oblivious sometimes but it's not too important since everything wraps up quickly. Really liked this VN. Very nice and wholesome, just wish it was a bit longer. 7/10

Wolf Tails is a game that had a surprising impact on me. Rereading it all these years later (now with a legitimate copy, no less. I pay my dues.) was an interesting trip. It's the first VN I've ever read, introducing me to a genre I now consider among my favorites. It was the first piece of romance media that really clicked with me, and in the process it sparked a love for that world, too. Somewhat counter-intuitively, it was also a catalyst for realizing I, myself, am aromantic, as it highlighted and gave clarity to a lot of feelings I had not been able to piece apart within myself. A bit of an odd spread, I know, but in any case, the game is important to me on a personal level for a lot of reasons, and despite having seen better experiences within the genre by now, it's still an entry I hold close to my heart. While my perspective has shifted a lot between personal revelations and increasingly refined taste, the fact that it lands true with me even now is, I think, high praise of its own. As with most Razzart games, it's a fairly kinetic visual novel centering around a heart-melting romance with cute and loveable characters. A handful of spicy scenes are present, but they are few in number, mostly serving as big emotional beats in the characters' relationships. Having played VNs that were far less reserved on this front, I'm thankful for the restraint, as the time spent letting the characters' relationships breathe makes the few lewd scenes hit much, much harder. Compared to Razzart's other works, this one is a little more minimalistic and reserved. The plot is nothing to write home about in comparison to, say, Starlight Vega, and the characters, endearing as they are, aren't overly complex either. I'd argue this isn't a bad thing per se. Its approachable nature did make for a perfect gateway into the medium (and I just so happen to be partial to saccharin, low-stakes stuff like this), but if you're the type that needs a bit of drive and spark in your VNs, it may come off a bit dry. Still, Razz's usual penchant for writing sweet relationships comes across as strong here as anywhere else in their catalogue, and the novel doesn't run long enough to overstay its welcome. In fact, it's more likely that by the end you'll be left with just much warm-and-fuzzy delight as you have melancholic longing for more time to spend with our adorable half-wolf companions. All in all, Wolf Tails, despite not breaking the mold, punches well above its weight class, and I heartily recommend it to anyone with a soft spot for romance regardless of familiarity with VNs on the whole. It's easily worth the asking price (especially on sale. 2.50 almost feels like a crime), and while it may only take an afternoon to read, if you're like me, it'll stick on your mind much longer than that.

absolutely adorable, short but amazing VN about 2 wolf-girls, where you take care of them during a storm until they decide to return to their pack [or not]. love the fact you can have to protagonist as being either female or male. beautiful artwork and just the right about of adult content that doesnt make it feel too pervy, compared to other VN ive played in the past. I havent played the male protagonist route yet, but am excited to see how it differs from the female protagonist run

It was beautiful, and what I always wanted from a visual novel. Actually had a story, that had some degree of depth. Beautiful art style, right amount of adult content. Too many adult visual novels, jump into the sex and nudity Five minutes into the story. The story is usually bland, with about as much depth as a puddle. Don't get me wrong, I like the nudity and sex. But like all things, it has to have a reason for being. A good story to go along with it, pacing and timing is important. It was a everything I look for in a genre, that is looking to be that middle ground between books and video games. It doesn't have to be Shakespeare, but creativity, innovation, depth is very much appreciated.
