In September of my third year in junior high school, I went with my father to my grandparents' house in the mountains. The place we arrived at was Yotsu Village. It was a small village that had long believed in "Yotsume God". There I meet a mysterious boy.

Exactly what I have been waiting for. Yotsume Gami (Yotsume God) was originally a smartphone game developed by SEEC, who I have been obsessed with since their escape room games. The main plot revolves around the same story as its precursor, with slight changes to the puzzle elements and a new ending. It has a special place in my heart.

- This game is really short by VN standards, only ~10 hours long, but it makes the most out of its runtime for sure. Really heartwarming and lovely story with great characters - Reunion is actually a remake of SEEC's mobile title, an escape room puzzle game. It's apparent at some point, but overall there's a lot of polish with updated art and animated CGs. - *Every line* of spoken dialogue is voiced in Japanese, which is really nice, and the VAs all do a standout job - I'd say if you like RPG maker horror, I'd highly recommend as this has similar vibes! This game really reminded me of The Forest of Drizzling Rain in particular - My only minor gripes were that some things could be expanded on and that a few of the puzzles felt obtuse, but tbh 9/10 game, I liked it a lot. - To SEEC: thank you for releasing a full English version on Steam. Please continue to release your titles in English!! 🙇

Though very short by visual novel standards, Yotsume God -Reunion- makes up for the lack of length with an emotionally-charged and riveting story that gets you engaged from the get-go. And everything is fully voice acted too, which is a REALLY nice bonus! Mai was such an endearing protagonist and her chemistry with the main cast was great. The plot is rich with lore and backstory that I wish this installment got an anime or other expansive material (the Special Edition mode + short stories made me want more bonus content and supplementary material lol). I remember playing this on the phone years ago (but quit because of the limitations of the mobile game back then, lack of a helpful guide, and all-around frustrating mechanics) and seeing the game be revamped on this level made me so happy that I had a hard time putting the game down to do IRL stuff lol. Wish it were more popular though (that saying, while it's not as popular as SEEC's other very popular title, Tasokare Hotel, it's prolly it's second most popular flagship title given it's so far the only other game aside from Tasokare Hotel to get a PC/Switch remake with updated content) because it's a really good escape game/visual novel hybrid. I guess the only downside to this game, like what I mentioned earlier, is that a lot of stuff can still be expanded on, like some of the endings and some of the characters. FYI, without spoiling anything, we don't get a proper resolution to one of the main antagonists in this game, despite their personal short story, info about the true nature of their character that you gleam from the plot, and the Special Edition adding more to that but still leaving us hanging on what's going on with that particular character. With that outta the way, I totally recommend this game for those who like story rich puzzle games and visual novels. 10/10 for me. So now, Seec, when are you guys ever gonna localize Tasokare Hotel Re:newal for the English language? Hopefully, ya'll would give us the English version in time for the anime's premiere!

I got recommended this game from a close friend of mine, and honestly i loved it so so much, from the art, the music, the storyline, and the mechanics. Some of the puzzles can be really hard to comprehend... (this is why it took me a total of 8 hours to complete the game) but i guess that's the fun part of this game. I hope i'll find more games like these in the future. Definitely one of the best mystery/visual novel games i played so far! 100/10
