I don't typically write reviews here on Steam so that says a lot already. If you are on the fence about whether or not to play this game, just do it. Simply put, this is a flawed masterpiece, and quite honestly my favorite piece of media ever made. The writing is fantastic (with some pacing issues here and there), the characters are iconic, the story and themes are fantastic, the music is top tier, the art is beautiful, and the ending is probably my favorite ending in almost any story I've read or watched. Do not be deceived by the cute cover art, this game explores many dark and mature themes (especially in the Terra route) and has many emotional ups and downs, many moments where you'll sit in silence just staring at the screen. There are a diverse amount of themes explored, and genres to experience, ranging from existential horror to lighthearted slice of life comedy. I could write a massive review going into all of the reasons you should give this a chance, but I'll just keep it simple. No piece of media has ever made me feel so many things as a grown ass man of 34. Even years later after my first completionist playthrough I still think about this game often. What a masterpiece.
The game that inspired Verdant Moon. I'm not one to play visual novels, this having been my first experience with the genre I found myself enjoying it quite a lot more then I initially expected. Rewrite has a great cast and really interesting ideas that it explores throughout its routes. Overall a great experience and I'd recommend it to anyone who has the time that it takes for completion of all 7 routes (took me 75 hours for all routes and 80 to 100%).
I absolutely love this game. It's my favorite Key VN and probably one of my favorite VN. Hilarious common route that foreshadows troubles and tragedy in the different routes and ALL those routes are GOOD (looking at you, Little Busters with some of your miserable routes). Be warned though, 100% this game is a pain (I just gave up when I realized I missed some Mappie event that I had no way of knowing what it was and thought "oh ♥♥♥♥ it").
