I bought this game because i wanted Green Sky Profile Background from Steam Points Shop... after purchasing, i was immediately and abruptly stopped from purchasing Green Sky Profile background because "You do not have the associated content installed or have not played 2 hours of this game".... Fine, right? I'll just idle the game for 2 hours so i can get the backgrounds from points shop no big deal... Then the achievements started.... The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ achievements started rolling in..... Why is there TWO THOUSAND AND EIGHT HUNDRED??? WHY do you unlock them at a LITERAL RATE of 100 APM (achievements per minute)? Why was i not told about and subsequently prepared for the audio barrage of THREE HUNDRED (300) god forsaken Steam Achievements in LESS THAN 3 MINUTES OF PLAYTIME? Playing this game and trying to ignore the onslaught of steam achievement noises in the background is literally unbearable, you cant even just sit in the title screen, it keeps FEEDING you achievements. IT makes YOU PAY ATTENTION. I don't think I've felt this much agony and suffering from a game ever before. Its like its been perfectly designed to make it so unbearable that you contemplate every choice you've ever made leading you to this current juxtaposition. you can't help but ask yourself... Do I want the background that much? Do i NEED the background that much? All In all, what i am trying to convey to someone who has not touched this game is please only play this if you have a genuine masochism complex. I think this could drive the most stoic human being to insanity within 15 minutes. The game is a cool concept. I do enjoy it, i just believe with my vast playtime of it (three minutes) it is not worth the probable hearing damage caused from listening to what i can only assume is 2,800 achievements in a 30 minute time span, as i have only made it to 300 and i cannot bear another second of cognitive brain function while the audio for this games achievements plays in the background. Will i idle this game when i go to sleep in order to get the cool and illusive Green Sky profile background that i originally sought out to behold during the beginning of this journey? Absolutely. Do i feel as if a portion of my dignity, sanity, sapience, and overall intelligence was stolen from me during this time? One thousand percent. I would NOT recommend this game unless you are genuinely attempting to speed run some form of mania or perchance schizophrenia. In that case the world is your oyster and i definitely recommend this game
7.5/10 A Surprisingly Creative Puzzle Game Held Back by Its Community Features “Wait, what? I’m just trying to kill some time with a puzzle game — why is it spamming achievements after every single level? It almost froze Steam’s overlay.” Honestly, that was my exact reaction when I first started playing, and I imagine a lot of players felt the same way. For casual players who don’t really care about community features, the constant achievement pop-ups can actually become distracting and clutter up the screen. That said, if you look past that and focus on the gameplay itself, you’ll find a surprisingly creative and genuinely fun minimalist puzzle game underneath. The premise is simple: the game features 66 levels, and in each one your goal is to get a blue ball to eventually stop inside a green zone. To make that happen, players can click red balls or blocks to trigger explosions, timing them carefully to activate a variety of cleverly designed physics-based mechanisms. Through experimentation and timing, the objective is to guide the blue ball safely to its destination. Oddly enough, the game reminded me of watching Tom and Jerry and Home Alone when I was younger. I absolutely loved all those ridiculously clever traps and chain-reaction contraptions as a kid, and somehow this game brought back that same kind of simple, pure fun. It also reminded me that I had played another entry in the Zup! series years ago ( Zup! 7 ). The core gameplay across the series seems fairly similar, though the quality of level design appears to vary from title to title. Personally, I found Zup! X more engaging than Zup! 7 — at least back when I finished that one, it didn’t leave me with nearly the same sense of fun this game did. What makes it even more interesting is that the Zup! series includes nearly 20 entries, and their Steam review scores aren’t exactly consistent. Some are rated very positively, while others are noticeably more mixed, which perhaps suggests that the quality really does fluctuate between installments. Overall, I’d recommend this game to anyone who enjoys this kind of puzzle experience. In some ways, it goes beyond being “just a way to kill time.” It’s the kind of game that leaves a lasting impression even after you finish it — the sort that sticks in your memory longer than expected, which alone deserves some praise. That said, this is also the kind of series where one or two entries are probably enough to satisfy most players. I wouldn’t recommend binge-playing several of them in a short period of time, since the similarities between titles can quickly start to feel repetitive and stale. For most players, I’d suggest simply picking one or two of the highest-rated entries and calling it there — unless, of course, you’re specifically interested in the community-feature side of things.
