though some of the achievements were pretty tedious (for example, my actual playtime is around 26 hours, it's only at 51 due to one achievement that required 30 hours of playtime on a single character) the gameplay was well designed enough to be enjoyable throughout. Shot type balance is kinda wack, and I would appreciate more original elements, but this was still a decent outing overall.

a Touhou fangame that rewrites the story of EoSD. Difficulty-wise, it feels like len'en: you get lots of lives (len'en 1 has light mode, that allows to start game with max lives) and ways to cheese patterns, but at the same time, these patterns are dense, and i mean, really dense. for example, Nix, the stage 1 boss, has a spell card, the pattern of which has openings that constantly disappear, as well as pushes player to bottom of screen. and Daiyousei from stage 2 actually tries to push player back too instead of letting herself get shotgunned by Marisa like it happened in EoSD. Art style reminds me of Alphes works, and honestly it's quite nice, i like it. Soundtrack is... amazing. Let me just include 3 themes i enjoyed listening to: https://youtu.be/gqdBoAcHElU?si=m1fJFUHT3EnTjDF2 https://youtu.be/mDcQ2wzpDjc?si=gOJmXLy0lt152kkT https://youtu.be/T8NieecdiyI?si=YNS2sQ2s1iYh9KRO English translation sucks, but if being honest... broken English gives this game it's charm, just like those old 2hus from doujinstyle that use old static English patch, dialogues in which sometimes just don't make sense (like, Reimu threatening to tear Reisen's clothes off in th08) Mechanics wise, as i understood, capturing boss attack/killing specific enemies gives you spell/life fragment, and you need 1 spell fragment/5 life fragments to get extra resource. as a note, just like in subterranean autism, bombing is allowed to meet the requirement for getting life fragment after clearing boss pattern. Overall, it's an enjoyable game that i would recommend to any touhou fan, despite some issues it has.

I finally see why TouHou is so popular: it's straight up *the most fun-to-play* shmup series. 1) FDF's level design is awesome. It can look chaotic and very random, but there's a viscerally satisfying, musical rhythm to them. 2) Like any good rhythm game, what begins as overwhelming and impossible, eventually turns into "readable" and doable. It's these never-ending a-ha moments of finally "getting" a hard bullet pattern (which are *all* designed intentionally) that keep the game so addictive, 40 hours in (despite technically being a 30-minute game). 3) The input lag is basically non-existent, which is SO underrated. Latency literally makes or breaks games — even if you don't notice it — but once you do see it, you can't go back. 4) The music is so good! Half the time I play this game, it's basically just an excuse to listen to the OST. (And like rhythm games, it's more fun to listen to while playing.) NOTES: - Download Joy2Key if you play on a gamepad, and remap: Button 1 to Z Button 2 to X Button 3 to Shift. (Or w/e you prefer.) - Bullet hell can be an acquired taste... but it takes like 10 seconds to get to the gameplay, so it's easier to dip into than many AAA games — so logistically, it's not too hard to acquire the taste eventually :^) - Play whatever difficulty (and character) you find the most fun. I like playing Lunatic even though I can't come close to 1cc'ing it. Other people like 1ccing one difficulty at a time. FINAL NOTE: "Ugly Doctor Effect" - Nassim Taleb (author of Antifragile) says you should hire a doctor who has great reviews — but is also ugly. That way, you know he earned his praise, and isn't benefiting from any halo effects from his handsome looks. The fact that TouHou is so popular — despite the cringe little girl aesthetics — is an Ugly Doctor signal for how fun it is. You're a rational actor, right, anon?

A great Touhou fan game for those who are fans of the franchise. I don't know who this Nix character is though and I'm not sure what she did to Rumia but, Koakuma's theme is a banger. Great bullet hell experience all around.
