April 2025
I expected this game to be decent but its actually revolutionary. Here is how it works: 1. Your turn starts and you draw cards as in every card battler. There are three different kinds of cards. Attack, defense and spells. You can play infinite spells but only ONE attack and NO defense cards. 2. Your opponents take turns (each their own) and you get to react to their actions with ANY of your cards. This allows for reeeaaaallly cool combos and strategic planning. Also every one of the four characters has multiple functioning decks and combos and it feels more skill based and less luck based.

This game is awesome. Instead of the stamina system from slay the spire you retain your hand and have to strategize whether to withhold a card or play it immediately. This game is really creative.

The game's enjoyable in it's current state, though it does lack any sense of meta progression, it only has higher difficulties after you win a run

Slay the spire with a twist! It does just enough different from the tried and true formula, but does not try to be different for the sake of being different. No meta progression, you unlock harder difficulty but you do not gain new artifacts or cards after beating the game, for some that will be a good thing for others it will not. Hidden gem!

It's alright. I'm having fun. Overall the game is pretty easy so don't expect a huge challenge! The core design is pretty cool. You can only do 1 attack per turn unless they have the "combo" property. You react on each enemies attack (You can play one card for each attacks) and that makes the game pretty cool.
