I went to write this review immediately after playing through the game and noticed caps lock was on, which makes sense since things definitely got hectic enough to warrant forgetting the key placement and just hitting stuff hoping to hit the right key for what I wanted. To get the obvious out of the way, yes this hasn't been updated in a few years. This is essentially a bit of fundraising for an even better version of the game in the future, as it seems the dev noticed this one wasn't as well put together as they felt it could've been and wanted a bit of a fresh start. So there's something to keep in mind when buying this. I honestly think there's enough even in this short, outdated view of the core experience to justify the small asking price, what I got for my money is clearly a well made, tense and frightening experience from a single person who clearly loves the survival horror genre. In fact the first time I tried this quite a while ago I quit before getting very far, because it was too scary. The build up to the chainsaw monster was terrifying. It does rely on cheap jumpscares a few times which I don't like, but I think I'm in the minority there. This version of the game is very derivative, feeling more like a clone of the big successful survival horror games rather than simply being inspired by them, and the translation is pretty rough with some of the textures and character models needing a little improvement, but I think the same can be said about some games with entire teams working on them and much higher price tags. You can also get pushed into a corner and stunlocked, but that's not unique to this game and is usually the player's fault anyway. In fact I'd say the only real point against this dev is they're clearly a Big Bang Theory fan. Just joking, of course. I recommend this based on the quality of the product relative to the price, and because the dev is being very open and honest about their intentions with this game. I wish them the best of luck, and I'm looking forward to Airtight city 2.0.
