<Spoiler Free Review> This game is good. But I actually think this is a bit disappointing... It is a good game if you have only played this chapter, though I personally think this is worse than chapter 2. Here are my opinions on the features: Chapters: GOOD (Only this out of the three has chapters) Length: Fine Tapes number: Fine Puzzle to get secret tapes: Not good enough Monsters appearance: Not enough Endings: TOO FEW I hope there are actually more endings and maybe even an alternative path that leads to other tapes like in ATA2. The ending isn't that good anyways. And the tapes should changed more if you do something in the office or chapel. I know the second office tape will change by choosing different paper, but it still doesn't feel good enough... One thing is about how you can just beat the game in the first playthrough, in the first two games, you could die easily because you don't know what to do on the first playthrough. There's like a trial-and-error. But in this one, you can actually avoid the deaths by just doing simple puzzles. I actually have to die on purpose to see the death scenes. For example, I have an idea how to improve the 4th tape. I can't be too obvious since this is spoiler free. In the game, the tape just ends if you do the wrong thing in the middle of it. What I hope is, the game actually let you watch until the end, doing nothing may still progress the tape, in fact the tape shouldn't ask you to do anything besides adding typing questions. So on the first playthrough you may just not pause at all and after the tape, you die. And that's the second playthrough and you understand what to do this time. I know it is impossible but I really want like a massive update of the game. Adding endings and stuff. I don't care about waiting, and I care about if the game is good or not. Or maybe at least creating a spin-off. I do like this game even though I am disappointed. So I still give a thumbs-up. If I rate this from 0 to 10, I'll give a 6.5
The best game in the series, and a good way to cap the story off. This trilogy is one of the most memorable and effective in mascot horror and analog horror genres. Also, as someone who grew up watching 'Dora the Explorer' and other kids' programs where the characters speak to the viewer, its creepiness is only amplified. And I believe that feeling was not lost as the games progressed.
The third game does tie everything up in a fairly satisfying way, there aren't really any loose threads left While it does feel a but rushed, there are not as many clever side objectives this time and the actual playtime is fairly short for example, it's still a mostly worthy end for the series. You probably already played it if you like the series, and it's also kind of needed if you want a ending and entirely pointless if you havn't (but you probably wouldn't care if you hadn't played them or didn't like them.). For the most part a alright ending to one of the only mascot horror I think are worth playing.
I like it and do recommend it, but it's the weakest of the three by far. The first ATA game is my favorite mascot horror game by far, and I bought this one the day it was available on Steam. I don't regret that decision, but the third game lacks a lot of what made the original special. Puzzles are overly simplistic (possibly an effort to course correct after the train puzzle in the second game), the game feels about half the length of the other ones, and nothing feels particularly unsettling. This is a departure from the tone of the original game, where the majority of tapes contained something that would be disconcerting to find in a kids' show, whether it be Wooly's operation, the rot tape, or even a cat slaughtering a family of birds. In the third game, about half the tapes just depict Amanda reminiscing on her past. ...Which is unfortunate, because I don't care for the character of Amanda. Her portrayal in the original game was far more interesting, but she doesn't even feel like the same character by the time the third game rolls around. Stan Wooly instead for clear skin.
