TLDR: Typical, ok, card game sim shop, but still fun enough to give a thumbs up. Not sure if worth the price tag, but still decent. I have 2-3hrs played on the game so not sure why Steam isn't tracking it correctly. I reached Level 11 (More Below...) Positives - Loop is fun - Progression feels solid - Card graphics are nice (booba) - Card battling is fun - Parodies on real manga is pretty funny - Character customizer has a LOT of crazy option sliders Negatives - Clothing feels too expensive and not worth it at all - All NPCs coming into the shop look the same - Starting shop size is a bit cramped, especially if you play with others (beyond 2) - Lack of shop decorations - Pillow rack should hold more - When you unlock the store room, it doesn't drop your shipments off there like it's supposed to - Character customizer should be right off the bat where you spawn in. Not down the street in some shop. In Conclusion If you like grinding out sim games, you'll probably have a good time, but I'm not sure if I'd say this is worth the $15 price tag or for the DLC items. The game is fun, but there's definitely other sim games out there that are better. Was this worth playing over going out IRL and buying some drinks at the bar for the same price though? Sure. I'd personally wait to play it on sale for ~$10 or lower though for the quality that it is.
Officially I am recommending this game because I believe it has potential. However, at the state its in right now I would be hesitant to buy it. Until you get your first employee you barely have any time to do anything other than manage the cash register. On day 16 I've seen single customers buy upwards of $1k in products. Merchandise flies off your shelfs and for me at least gameplay is pretty much entirely limited to sprinting from storage to my shelves to restock them just for that product to sell within 10 seconds. By the time I managed to get a 2nd employee i would typically have lines of 10-15 customers just waiting to check out, and I'd like to add that cashiers check out customers quite quickly. Faster than the fastest cashier in TCG Card Shop Sim. Ultimately the flow of customers needs to be tweeked, or the amount they have to spend needs to be lowered a little in the early game.
As someone with almost 20 hours on this game already, I can say a lot of the negative reviews complain about such small things that are completely irrelevant or have already been fixed. Don't forget the game released 2 days ago and they've already released 3 hotfix updates. My only real complaint so far is that as a solo player, a lot of my time is spent restocking pillows. With these last 3 updates I'd give this game a solid 8.8/10. Can't wait for more content!
My recommendations at level 15: Shelving shouldn't cost 1700, shelving cost in general is nuts I don't think I've scanned anyone with any stolen product using the scanner feature IDing customers, I hate that little animation they do when you accept their ID, remove it and just let me check them out Body pillows FLY off the shelves Tournament progression is really slow Baseball bat hit tracking is a bit off In addition, some sort of alert when we're getting graffitited would be nice since we're swamped restocking pillows all day Buying store upgrades is weird how it opens up the store, just seems to be weird random sections that open up Placement of shelves needs to be fixed with a better snap/grid system. Plus furniture is huge compared to how much space we get to work with Cosmetics are crazy expensive Selling Furniture at reduced costs is kinda annoying Faster acquisition of new employees Bigger loans For a game that came out yesterday, pretty solid. These tweaks would help a ton.
