A fun roguelike with classic farming mechanics. It’s great for passing the time, but it relies too heavily on manual tasks, especially in the late game. Adding more automation-focused features would make the experience far more enjoyable and much less repetitive.

Had an absolute blast with this game, Took a minute to get used to and understand the mechanics, due to the lack of a tutorial. But overall is a great game for someone who likes mindless tasks and/or slow paced gameplay. A few things to mention. There is no automation, making you do everything by yourself click by click, which can get a bit tedious after awhile. (You HAVE to click, you can not hold down a button.) Also with the lack of automation and the exponential increase in rent you have to supply, each day becomes longer than the last and for better or worse, the day only saves once you move to the next day, so at times a 10+ minute day has to be completed in one sitting. Overall, this game quickly became one of my favorites and a comfort game for me, and i highly recommend to anyone who is a fan on the genre!

TLDR: Very grindy and a time killer. But if you don't enjoy monotonous grinding it'll get old fast. Lacks real challenge. But it's cheap so yeah. It has genuine issues I have with it but most negative reviews are BS. I think it's great. It has it's issues but it's not a money grab or abandoned imo. It's 3 dollars and just a time killer if you got nothing better to do and enjoy grinding games but want something new. I prefer the artstyle + grindy nature of this version compared to the new. But the newer one seems more structured and designed closer to a roguelike formula. I love making ten million machines to create items and watch the game have a stroke. It could be better optimized (like the newer one likely is). But I think this version is better if you just want to jump into things without needing to spend hours to unlock basic stuff. However there isn't really good difficulty/challenge to this game. So you aren't really encouraged to try other strategies because you can make anything work even without synergy imo. This sadly applies to the challenges as well overall I'd say. I don't think you should need to play a challenge to try a new build or strategy. A challenge should provide much more unique gameplay or some unique gimmick instead of just limiting your options. (Which it arguably doesn't even do a good job at) Many abilities are completely useless if you know how to play and rush early game. And other just are so passive that it doesn't provide any unique interactions. The appeal of this game is less of a roguelike and more of a monotonous grind and sell things at the right time to maximize profits.

TLDR: Fun for a while, but kind of annoying on the achievement end. For the price I think it's absolutely worth picking up if you are a fan of the genre and like these sorts of strategy/management games. It's a fun time figuring out all the mechanics for the first time and progressing through the endgame. My biggest issue comes from the very lategame where you are just trying to grind out the achievements... unfortunately the balance is kind of bad in this game and from my playthroughs at least there was no feasible way to beat the combination of energy gain + relentless fishing. It got a bit boring farming up to the 10,000,000 and 1000 days achievements because it was so samey. I understand not everyone is an achiev goblin like me so for the avg player I think their experience will just be positive- pick it up when you want to and take it slow type of game. The price for the hours of content you get is absolutely undeniable though. It's definitely worth the money, just tread lightly if you're a big completionist.
